To the comodo team my windows 11 24h2 operating system fails when running comodo cleaning essential

What does it say in your CBS.log for those errors?
C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

Have you tried the fixes in this article? https://howtoedge.com/update-error-0xc1900104/

You can see the CBS logs for errors here.

Also there’s a duplicate thread here of someone else who had problems installing Cumulative Updates and upgrading from 23H2 to 24H2

The thread said the firewall is blocking Windows Update on newer windows versions.

I’ve also often received the 0x80070005 error as well!

However for me specifically, I’m trying to upgrade from 23H2 to 24H2

Thanks. I think maybe you need to run system file checker (run CMD as Administrator and enter - sfc /scannow ) Upgrading to 24H2 is quite and update so your best bet may be to export your configuration, uninstall, update to 24H2 and then reinstall CIS/CFW.

I have already used sfc and dism.

Uninstalling CIS, upgrading to 24H2 then installing CIS again seems too risky, if the above experience is anything to go by. In another thread, someone posted that upon installing Comodo software on 24H2, their computer got a blue screen and wouldn’t reach a login screen. So they had to wipe out their computer as it got bricked.

I have done the different solutions provided and none of them work.

Well I definitely haven’t wiped out my computer and reinstalled windows.

Are there any other suggestions you lot can give me?

Hi desbest,

We are checking on this.
We’ll keep you posted.

In the end it is not specifically the firewall, because, if disabled, nothing changed lately. You need to remove the product to make updates work again

What is really bad is that I have to do this to several clients that I install CIS on.
What needs to be done is for COMODO to release a fix for this problem, otherwise it will cause a lot of problems for several clients that use COMODO.
I am already having this problem here in my city, clients are saying that Windows is not able to update because of this error!
How can I explain to each one that the problem is in CIS, that they have to uninstall, update Windows and then install it, this is totally unfeasible.
There are clients who don’t even know how to configure CIS, let alone remove it.
The COMODO team has to release a fix for the product, this fix has to come via program update. With that, no one needs to uninstall CIS anymore.

It has been 5 months with this issue!!! And I love using comodo, never had issues for 10 years, but this is unacceptable!!!

Hi all,

We have reproduced this issue and reported to the team.
We will keep you posted.

Thanks

Because of Windows 11 intrusively trying to automate a feature update from 23H2 to 24H2 on an infinite loop (which failed to install repeatedly each night I slept), I’ve had to stop that and mitigate the resulting speed and performance issues.

  1. Stop automated feature updates using GRC Incontrol
  2. Fix the permissions of installed software using a clever batch script (especially WinUI apps and web browsers)
  3. Use the tuneup script from Ten Forums (delete the ā€œchkdskā€ command from the script as it’s extremely slow and is only for faulty hard drives)
  4. Update your drivers. I use Driver Booster, Driver Easy and Adaware Driver Manager
  5. Check if your hard drive is faulty using CrystalDiskInfo

If you would like to disable automatic updates (the monthly cumulative updates) you can follow the instructions here.

Hello, I also had the following problem with CCE. When I finished scanning the files, I restarted the computer. After that, I could no longer enter Windows 10, but it kept saying FORMAT to recover the operating system.

Because I couldn’t do it, I had to format the computer/restore the system.

I hope the Comodo team can reproduce this problem that has been happening to everyone, urgently.

Hello, I recently ran into this problem even with CCE with Windows 10.

Hello
The problem, in my opinion, is version 2025, which is causing this inconvenience when using CCE. These problems didn’t exist with the previous version; I always ran CCE without any issues.
I hope they fix this soon with an update.
See you soon.

Could CCE be updated to add a feature for automatic error reporting in such a scenario? Just like CIS has…

Thank you.

Still awaiting a fix since July 2022. ???

Apparently, based on a Geek Buddy representative, the question should be asked to: desktopsecurity@comodo.com .

Can’t wait to use a rootkit scan…

You’re definitely right about that. I don’t use CCE anymore either—it’s a blue screen with options to repair the computer.

Edit:

I have CCE as a separate software and recently started it: everything works.
Downloading the signature.
Scanning with intelligent search.
Restart.
Done.

The integration into CIS failed and aborted due to an error.

Can’t wait to use a core feature of the COMODO AV that is supposed to be working : https://antivirus.comodo.com/ (Boot Time Scans).

Any ETA? Has the fix already been released??
