Rising Antivirus Free

Maybe some sort of conflict? oh well… Some things work and some don’t on certain computers… :frowning:

Hi Rafel, I don’t get the XP Pro Virtual, but if it’s what I think it is it looks like the initial startup Boot Scan being performed by Rising AV, does the rest of the bootup progress right through to your desktop normally?

Xman (:KWL)

Well Vette:
If RISING:
-hasn’t web shield.
-a lot of leftovers after uninstall.
-must to rebuild repository folder-
-Low AV rate.
Are you saying it is a good AV?LOL What’s for you a good AV, or a good program?
Because all cons it has are very hard.
I don’t doubt in the future it will be great, but now is a ■■■■■■ program.
As others chinese products, original icons, nice interface, but poor program.
In Spanish laught or laughter is “risa”, then we have a joke with this cappy program, translating the joke is laughing AV.
And i can’t install in a fresh XP vitual,hahaha.

Nop, i must to reboot the VM because it freezes. An hour freezed, hahaha.
Before reformat VM, i tried uninstall in safe mode, but nothing.
I think there are free AV more efficent and safes than this joke.

now, now, I bet the keyboard your typing on is made in china ;D

and web shields are just a marketing ploy >.> if you don’t believe me…Download eicar with your websheild on, it will be deleted. Now turn your websheild off… It will still be deleted.

OK, Web Shield is a marketing deply, but the others three cons?
Sorry, but i need a good AV, not a joke.
RAV can’t kill a lot of virus, less tan AVG or AVAST…
Not AS, that’s another con.

Rafel, why are you running Rising on a VM? If you have problems uninstalling it that may be a cause, run it normally
unvirtualized but install both Glary Utilities for after the fact registry cleaning & Zsoft uninstall also both unvirtualized.
If you ever manage to uninstall Rising…

Xman (:KWL)

I use Smarty Uninstaller(shareware, but i’m translator) and Revo uninstaller,CCleaner and Reg Seaker.
I’ll not endanger my system with a product has no quality for me.
I use VM because install and uninstall programs isn’t very good.

Rafael

I disagree with you man. Rising is a good antivirus. Please check the latest test result from av-test.org at:

That was already posted by Vette, please check it out. Rising result overall is quite good. Moreover its security apparatus is second to none. You simply cannot shut it down, compare to NOD32 that malware can disable. Believe me I tried, I used task manager to shut down Rising processes without success. I even used comodo firewall to shut down and quaratine its processes to no avail. I visited a few bad sites from the dark side of the web on my virtual XP pro where I know I will get infected with some malware injection well Rising defended me like Avira, Avast and Norton did. Ofcourse Rising has room to grow as with any security software with technology. I only have praise for them.

By the way Avira free does not have anti-spyware also.

Peace man and read the test result.

In my Virtual Machine(I use VirtualBox because it’s free, and i think is a very good program), i can’t boot to th desktop because it freezes my VM before start the system.
Well, i don’t doubt in the future will an otstanding product, and then sure, if it’s free, i’ll use it. Well, if COMODO AV is outstanding too, i prefer CAV. But i think, IMHO, isn’t good as AVIRA or AVAST.
I use AVAST.

PS
I’m Rafel, is in catalan, not Rafael, in spanish

And, of course, Peace (:WIN)

Hi Jaki, I see you’re also quite impressed with Risings’ AV performance as I am. It really does kick ■■■■.
I’d tried many AVs trial or free, Eset NOD, Avira, Avast just to mention these & they really don’t compare to Rising
AVs full protection set, I hear you dude, we’ve made quite a find while awaiting the CAV3 final…
RAV Rocks! :-TU
Xman (:KWL)

I’m going to download this one again. I don’t use an AV, But will post back my findings ASAP.

EDIT: Nice AV, But still Don’t like the look of it.

Josh

Hi Xman

To me, beside CAV3 coming up, Rising is a treasure trove and the best kept secret. However, not for long since more and more people are becoming aware of its existence on a daily basis. I have nothing but praises for Rising (:CLP)

Keep spreading the RISING word Xman.

Peace

I’m currently using it as well. Been using it for about a month maybe. My fav feature of it is that it can scan usb drives before the pc gets infected. It has cleaned 2 usb drives so far and my pc is intact. ^^ So far I think it’s a great product. My only complaint is that I sent a couple of malwares to Rising company. And only one was added to the database. The others haven’t been added yet. I know Avast has this issue as well. I hope they fix that.

Hi Jeims, I opted out of the USB stick Scan option on initial Rising installation since it’s my own stick & I’m the only one using it I’ve got enough savvy to know & completely trust what’s on it at all times. It just makes less work for Rising AV to carry out & probably one less running process on my machine, I also opted out on IM & email scan during initial install, I never use IM (don’t trust it) & I don’t have many personal contacts whether email or IM anyhow, I use Malwarebytes Antimalware right click scan for those particular requirements thus 2 more running processes spared to Rising, I decided to keep the installation lean to only 3 of the 4 Autoprotect modules offered on the custom install option to maximize it’s efficiency & my machines’ CPU & RAM, also like the silent smartupdate
option feature…

Xman :-TU (:KWL)

Thinking bout possibly trying Rising but I was wondering… How much RAM is it using up during idle/web surfing? 30mb total? 20?

I already post that. It doesnt have a web shield so surfing will be the same. Runs 5 processes adding up to about 15,000K.

Hi Vette, does have a script blocker for web browsing to neutralize intrusions, recheck it carefully…
Xman (:KWL)

But thats not that same. Look at my NOD32 screen shit with the eicar site.

Hi Vette, anyhow whether it’s blocked script, blocked web virus or blocked on access it really doesn’t make a difference when you browse sandboxed with Sandboxie as you & I do, you can always recover whatever you want to keep & flush the rest thereafter. Once it’s on the hard disk & before execution of the recovered item a right click scan of it with either Rising AV or NOD32 will catch anything that’s not desired & kill it dead, it’s par for the course my friend, btw do you like my new avatar? Looks better than goofy drugged out dude I was using beforehand IMHO and it must somehow remind you of some AV company logo you’ve seen recently…
