Rising Antivirus Free

Twister uses 7000k  but thatā€™s another story :stuck_out_tongue:

Yo Vette, are you still running Rising or did you go back to your NOD32? If youā€™re still running Rising are you still as impressed with it? I am. You make any further interesting discoveries since youā€™ve been using it?
Xman :-TU (:KWL)

KIS 2009 runs 2 processes here and rarely takes more than 20 K  NOD32 is heavy. 40 K is a lot. So why people say itā€™s light as a feather ? 88)

NOD32 is lighter then most. Waiting for CAV 3

Josh

Maybe lighter than Norton, Panda, McAfee and other second rate stuff, but itā€™s heavier than itā€™s closest rivals 88)

Anyway - Iā€™m !ot! Sorry. Continue with the Rising

Yes I am still running Rising. Took 3 hours to do a full high scan on both my drives. Nothing found of course. I agree now with Kyle about web shields. I use to think it was important but now I realize it is a gimmick. When I was using KAV 8 beta everyone said turn off the web shield.

Vette are you scanning on your gaming machine?

Both my machines are gaming but yes. On my desktop I have 2 160 gig drives ann both are about 70% full. My Dell Gaming laptop has a 300 gig drive and is about 50% full. I might go back to NOD32 though. Rising is great but I just dont know how far I can trust it.

EDIT: forget that post, I was mistaken.

Hmmā€¦ But both of the URLs belong to Avira.
None of them link to the free solution of Rising Security, which can be found at http://www.rising-global.com/
There seems to be a misunderstanding.

Eric:
did ā€œRisingā€ in your topic address to the company or to rising as in ā€œa new star risingā€ ?

Not for me. When I click on the top one it goes to Risng.

Strangeā€¦www.freerav.com clearly takes me to download page of Rising Antivirus.

Sorry about that, my mistake. Overseen the r and simply read www.freeav.com
I beg your pardon.

Hi Vette, glad to see youā€™ve stuck with Rising so far, Iā€™ve just opened an account to send a ticket concerning the Security Audit which with all default protections enabled, latest definitions loaded & disk freshly scanned tells me Iā€™m low (Red) go figure, if the main update server is located in Asia & Iā€™m in Montreal, Canada the time difference might be the reason I figure, but I know that Iā€™m fully protected nevertheless, strange about the Security Audit result though, I have seen my audit green (Medium) & even blue (High) Iā€™m waiting for a reply to my ticket which theyā€™ve confirmed via return email as received, weā€™ll seeā€¦

Well I Revo Uninstalled Rising. Sorry guys. It left alot of files and folders behind also. Then I had to rebuild the repository folder also. No biggie. Back to NOD32 for me. Subscription is good till Nov. I know web shields are not that important but I download atot of stuff and visit warzez sites. I surf porn also from time to time. When I go to the eicar site this is what I want to see. Screen shot below.

Hi Vette, glad to see you really gave it time to evaluate Rising, itā€™s cool that you went back to Eset though, think after your subscription runs out you might reinstall Rising till CAVS3 makes & proves itself or are you looking into other options in the meantime, Final thoughts on Rising buddy? Iā€™m going to stick with it till CAVS3 or CIS are
proven as is their Firewall

Xman :-TU

Rising is good Xman. Better then AVG but not as good as Avast. Nice GUI then Avast.

Hi Vett

If Vettech likes Rising then I will give it a try. As a matter of fact I have already downloaded it since yesterday. I will try it first on my vmware xp pro and then Iā€™ll see what happens. However, based on some screenshots that I have seen thus far I really have great hope for rising. And when their detection rate goes really up, since it is quite good right now, avira as well as avast will be in trouble.

Peace

I like it but I love my NOD32.

I formated my XP Pro Virtual and after a fresh install of Win i installed S_hitising AV i must to reboot and this screeshot:
