Hi. I came across COMODO when surfing top rated reviews for antimalware etc.
There are Heaps of reviews. Going thru them is good value and after trying so many i came across the Lizard :D. I use the free version i realise the Pro is better free is good for broke writers. the free version is gret to use heaps of easy to use options and i think the scan is thorough to a T.

I have used numerous Anti V’s and I find CMDO does not take over like some prgrmmes do. the alerts are really helpful and more than once i blocked or deleted a download because of said alerts.
What is best is WNDWS recognises the prgrmme. A lot are not recognised.
I do not use norton avg mcafee or spybot. have tried them all the unknown are best and often not such Share prgrmmes. It works well with MCRSFTESSENTIALS CCleaner and Malwarebytes. A good alround 4 i reckon. My system is sp3wndws8xpsp3 and has phoenix protection as well wndows firewall etc.
and still i dont think i am safe   8) (V)
This mssge will self destruct one day.
till then have a good day.
oh. my question is how come all of a sudden my disc cleaner in accessories did not work on C or D?
■■■■ thing just froze.
i ccleaned and that went fine.
thanks ???

Hi all,
i’m a new forum member here, just wanna say that im really satisfied with Comodo perfomances after using it for the last few months, it’s really useful when it comes to filtering the inbound and outbound connection of my laptop, i’ve tried a couples of free edition of AV and the paid one as well but no one as good as Comodo, thought there is nothin’ that really perfect to detect and fixed all the virus, spyware and malware but Comodo has fulfilled everything i need for protecting my laptop.
i got my comodo installer from one of the biggest computer magazine in my country whom give the title as one of the best (free) antivirus for Comodo…

many thanks to Comodo Teams…really appreciate and grateful for your work…

WR, you asked

Hi,

Tell me, why in the world is it that Comodo does not want to do ongoing business with me; I want to give them my business and I want their services but they act like they do not want any kind or anything to do with any ongoing business relationship with me for any reason. I semd them email after email and they do not respond accodingly to my individual matters at hand. It has really got to the point where I have had to send emails like the one below. I really would like someone in high-places to show some regard and interest in my affairs with Comodo, and don’t put me on ice. I need some assistance; is anyone out there?

Good Morning,

Would someone be kind enough to forward this correspondance to the desk or
technical support department of Samuel, who was my last contact with Comodo.
I am attempting to get some feedback or a reply regarding the issue I
previously emailed to him as seen below. I need to hear from him asap; it is
somewhat imperative. Please advise me of the status of this submitted
ticket. As I have already seen within the support domain, when I view
pending tickets already submitted there are still (3) including this one
that are still active/open, and have not yet found resolution and I have not
yet recieved feedback or a reply regarding these issues. Could someone be
kind enough to explain? I would like to do business with Comodo as I have
explained in past correspondance. Thank you for your assistance and interest
in being of service to me.

Respectfully,
WR_Cosgrove

I have referred your question to Comodo’s service department. I expect you will hear from them very shortly, and I look forward to a satisfactory answer to your question.

As you all know, I don’t need to say a lot of how good of CIS really is… Comodo firewall protected me from internet hazards for the last two years without any problems.

I have just joined the comodo users… install it software but i try virus Database Update 30% stuck program please help me.

thank you

it’s not stuck it just has a big download to download the AV database, just let it sit there and finish downloading. It will ask you to restart and once restarted update one more time, it has a few more files to update then you will be all set.

The link given does not exist anymore?! :o

Indeed.

I submitted a report in the Report Comodo Forum / Web Site Issues board in The web page to submit user’s testimonials at is no longer existent.

Ah Okay, nice one Eric. :-TU

Some quick feedback from a new user for the free Comodo firewall but relatively experienced with PC’s. Obviously being free I am not going to complain about the price however I do find the whole firewall program structure (so many things in so many hidden menus) very confusing and with so many alerts and no real way to know whether some of them should be allowed or not. I used Zonealarm for years and years and always found that very straightforward to grant or deny access to programs and it was as simple as looking at the Program list to review what access an individual program had. Once denied that was it. I only moved to Comodo because the free firewall doesn’t work with Win 7.

When I tell Comodo firewall to remember my answer re access it still keeps asking over and over whether the same program can have access and I get tired of it and just end up clicking yes or simply putting a program into “trusted application” status to shut it up which is not good practice. There are times when you want a program to be able to operate on your PC but not connect externally and these programs are where I strike problems. Comodo is obviously very good at what it does but it does pester too much - it needs a “simple” mode where a user either trust an application and therefore only tells Comodo once that the program can access everything - or not. Also in your help you need links from the help to the program - very frustrating reading where to find something and then having to switch to the program to drill down and try to find the actual area you have been reading about - a link from the help would make life so much easier. I am not sure whether I will stay with Comodo long term and only because of the above criticisms.

I have been using Mcafee Security Suite the paid full version that comes with my ISP package for free. I bet I have uninstalled Mcafee on and off like twenty times to try other free security suite products. Mcafee keeps having issues with there lockdown firewall in which disables system guards, now they are currently having bugs in their antivirus updating correctly. I seen a CNET Security Review where it listed Comodo Internet Security Free Version/Paid Version as being number one for the year 2009. I have uninstalled Comodo like five times and always went back to Mcafee thinking a paid antivirus is a must have. I was so wrong.
Comodo Support even helps out people here in these forums that use their Free Version Software. This further tells me that Comodo actually cares about helping people stay safe while using the Internet. I feel safer while online with the sincere effort of Comodo Staff. It’s indeed amazing that I can feel safe using a free version security software. I Salute Comodo Staff on a job very well done. Keep up the great work Comodo.

Thank you Scotty_Donahti, we really appreciate your feedback.

Good :-* :-TU

Thank you Eluveitie.

Melih

For some reason the link Melih provided 404’s. I registered just to give my testimonial.
Comodo is by far the greatest security tool I use. Alongside Avast!, I don’t think much can threaten my system. It’s advanced enough to stop anything (wanted or otherwise) so I can review it, but still caters to my dumb side. Also runs great with Win7. Only downside I can find is that ThreatCast doesn’t seem to work. But still, I couldn’t ask for a better product, thanks Comodo!
;D :-TU ;D

I try to access the link posted by Melih but in vain so I better say a few words on the board. Security Package (Free Package) will benefit a favorite among home users is not hard to install and use.
As security software is always room for improvement. Thank you and wish you success!

Melih, first of all thank you for making available to the free User as me this thread, which shows the concern of Comodo in making a better security software to any level of user.

I already have a paid software from another company of which I have no complaints as they are concerned about fixing bugs in addition to false positives to maintain the security of computer (either at corporate or personal) and the stability of the software used by each profile customer.

But I see that many users do not have ways to keep paying for a security program and nowadays with many brands that are expensive and do not work as well as Comodo that most of times achieve good levels of protection in several tests I have recommended that it be installed in several cases.

So in order to get you to continue offering the program for various levels of users (free of charge as I am using in my tests and that somehow it will also help the Corporate User) I will refer some cases that occurred to me:

Windows XP:

  • Bug with Windows XP accusing (false positive) that the C: \ SystemRestore \ (several files of their own valid XP installation) are trojans. In this scenario Comodo deleted the files causing the malfunction of Windows XP
(I discovered this when having to address a problem in a company where there was a virus installed on a machine replicating across the network, after a week of work running several tests I isolated the computer with 54 types of infections to format. The company not only provided me all the installation CDs but also got in touch with the manufacturer of the machine for some specific paths about some programs they own). After a full and clean format and all necessary updates I installed Comodo until the company chose a product for the network and after installation Comodo excluded some Windows XP valid files - was the problem of false positives -. I had to use the installation CD of Windows XP to repair the installation after uninstalling Comodo. And them the company choose a paid and reliable software to protect them.

As Home User:

  • Problems caused by valid files of some games making the game does not run when we leave some files in whitelist.
  • Online games that use HackShield are not performed the update because Comodo detects the anti hacker game tool itself as potentially dangerous nor giving a chance to put it in whitelist
  • Problems with nVidia graphic driver update making it to miss a valid .dll causing computer instability
  • Problems with BlackBerry Desktop Manager (not allowing to install completely even when we chose the install as trusted application). Also happen to update the device causing BlackBerry and computer instability

I cannot send any dump file right now as I gave up from Comodo due to the issues with HackShield and BlackBerry and some games I use to play at my free time because even when I was trying to repair the Windows 7 64 bits installation I couldn’t complete and had to reformat completely (a real pain in the ■■■■) and I will not use my computer to work or to play without the driver of nVidia graphic card installed.

I have the same problem, Hackshield can’t update.

sorry i just have to say that i hate this firewall.
the only reason i dont uninstall it is that sunbelt firewall doesn’t have a 64bit version yet.
i hate that it asks all over again the same programs no matter if i put them on the untrusted list or it doesn’t ask at all. no way between.
i loved about sunbelt that it asked every time a program wanted to connect, and it only asked one time, and this is all i need. comodo is just really annoying.
sorry but this is my opinion.
