I sent in a support ticket to find out if CIS would work with Win 7. I noticed somewhere while creating the ticket, something about response in an hour, upto one or two days. I thought yeah, right!
I was amazed at how fast you responded to my ticket. I was going to use CIS in Windows 7, but I’m going to investigate the advantage and differences of it and CIS Pro. If I determine Pro is worth the $$, and I hope it is, I’ll purchase this software.
I’m just a peon, and you responded to my ticket as if I was Bill Gates or Obama, or some other VIP. I want to be associated with a company like Comodo! I think if you give this attention to such a insignificant and minor issue, I know you’re on top of the important.
GREAT JOB !!!

Thank you!

We exist for you!

This seems to be a general problem with Comodo Team. They presume so many things. Do Comodo give ‘CIS Pro’ free of cost? And for a trial version, if any, user will never complaint back like this. And especially when the user is mentioning about the money spent on the product. I am having a problem and I sent almost 20 mails to the support dept. Those people don’t even understand the difference between secure email certificate and a Secure-email software. I could not explain them even with the help of screen shots. To me it appears that those Guys have very low IQ. Instead of posting
something here, I’m trying to get the email ID of CEO so that all the screen shots along with my complaint could be forwarded directly to him instead of washing dirty linen in the forum.
I wouldn’t even mind posting my experience in the forum and making all its members as the arbitrators and will honor their verdict. I have already removes/uninstalled all those freebies of “Comodo”, from my computer. But if I don’t get the email ID I’ll definitely post the whole thing here. There’s a saying that bigger the lamp; the bigger is the darkness underneath. And this is truly applicable on Comodo Team. :-TD

To the Comodo Staff and Volunteers.
On behalf of all whom use Comodo products I would like to thank-you all for your generosity by spending your time coding a reliable Firewall (in which case I use) that does what is declared on the box. I could go on and on comparing your great product against other vendors, but what purpose will it serve if I were to simply parrot away? 88)

To everyone whom may read this personal unbiased review.
My (short) testimony:
I have personally used Comodo Firewall since March 2008 (now over a year) with no problems or issues. So easy was the Graphic User Interface (GUI) for the Firewall that I had no need to ever ask any questions (or search) “how to use” this fine application. Even though the general layout maybe easy to navigate, Comodo does not compromise appeal (looks) for quality (like some other vendors), in other words Comodo is as powerful doing what it is suppose to do (that being protection for your PC) while being visually appealing, and with all those advanced options that some of us curiously minded trigger happy people like to probe around with in order to take advantage of those ‘extra’ functions to satisfy even the “easily distracted” and hungry mind.

Question: My product of choice?
Answer: Comodo Firewall (free version), which mind you is also “free” from problems. If you can read instructions and buttons then you you should have no problems whatsoever using any Comodo product!

*Note: It was only by sheer chance that the above poster happened to express negatively about the same product when I happened to navigate onto this site to express my gratitude. So, please do not assume that I am in any way some kind of hired gunman. I am a “real” individual whom just so happens to love this application and wanting to express it. Coincidence. I just don’t want the Comodo Team getting a bad rep from this. ???

Question: My personal rating out of ten (this should already be obvious)?
Answer: 10/10 (if compared to other vendors).

Question: What would I like to see added or changed in Comodo Firewall?
Answer: Nothing. I am content. So long as it does what it is intended to do (i.e. being a firewall), then everything else is a bonus, such as themes and skins.

A huge congratulations to the Comodo Team for there outstanding efforts.

Is now a part-time member.

First of all, I want to explain that I am No Expert…just a common punter who surfs the internet and uses his computer for everyday things like sending Emails writing the odd letter and fixing photographs.
I came across Comodo Firewall about 4 years ago, downloaded it and was reasonably happy with it…it was free, not to complicated and as they say on the advertisements “it did what it said on the tin”…couldn’t ask for much more.
Then they updated it a year or two back and then I had problems…so I dumped it and reverted back to the original and I was happy again.
Then I read a review in “Webuser” Magazine and it highly praised the combined anti-virus and the firewall. So as I respect this Magazine I decided to give the new version a try once again. Wow am I glad I did, it is SUPERB reallly really SUPERB
I was so pleased with it I put it I on my other computer…so easy to use and never gets in the way. Far easier than the first Comodo Firewall I had.
Anyway, due to an offer my daughter had on her computer of “kaspersky Internet Sercurity” for 3 computers I decided to replace my other computer’s Comodo Firewall with the paid version of Kaspersky. Not at all pleased with it and as soon as “kaspersky Internet Sercurity” ends it’s years subscription I will come back to Comodo. The computer I am writing this on has still it’s Comodo Firewall and here it will stay.
Thanks to all on the Comodo Team for bringing this great product…soon all the computers in our house (five) will have Comodo securing them
Thanks again…keep up the great work you do.

Harry

I’ve been using Comodo firewall for about a month and everything works as it should, no problemo.
I’ve never seen a firewall with so many user controlled features as Comodo. Excellent product!

The first time I used a Comodo product was the firewall. Anyway, talk about a quirky firewall.

The permission windows drove me so crazy I finally uninstalled it. And I also tried the Secure

Email… impossible! Now, upon the recommendation of a friend, I am trying the Comodo System

Cleaner (strange why its not listed on Download Internet Security Products for PC Protection along with

the other programs with the huge advertising Icons but is found only on a list on the top of the

page directing one to another page: http://www.comodo.com/home/support-maintenance/computer-

support.php). Well, everything worked well until I tried to download the update of the newest

version of the product, which I was advised to do on the main window when I clicked "Check for

Updates". After it was downloaded, I get a message window with three options:

  1. Upgrade or Repair
  2. Remove
  3. Close this Wizard… which is set as the DEFAULT!!! Why? If one is upgrading, why not have

the default set to “Upgrade or Repair”?

Of course being not as enlightened as the people who write in these forums, I just clicked

“Next”. Which of course, was wrong. Then, A window said I could use the installer later at any

time, but where is the installer, and how does one install it later? No information, and I

couldn’t figure it out. Again, it’s the same like so much of the computer software designed

today: either these people don’t use what they design (or so it seems… like taking car

designers 25 years to put in coffee cup holders although most everyone drinks coffee…or tea),

or they are so advanced, they leave everyone else behind.

so I finally tried to just download the newest version from the Comodo website. Well, I did this

twice. After installation, I clicked onto the Comodo icon to start the program. I click onto the

“Check for Updates” again just to see if there was a last minute update, and nothing happens,

and nothing works. well, what is happening is that Comodo is silently waiting to begin the

updates on your system, but doesn’t tell you it is doing that… at least for about 1 minute

after the main window is opened. Then an information windows opens to tell you what programs are

being updated. So what happens next, Comodo asks me AGAIN to download the same update!

And then, when finally, everything is updated and works, it forces me to create a Restore Point.

but what does the software do, it just sits there silently, not saying anything waiting until

the “clean my computer” icon changes from gray to blue. (?)

Really, I think all this software is too user-UNfriendly for the average user, at least what I

have tried. I get none of this time-wasting nonsense using, say, Advanced System Care, or

Ashampoo WinOptomizer. Why does a simple update of a new version have to be so difficult,

Comodo??? I am very appreciative of all the free software but we also understand it is a ploy

to buy the pro versions. But if the free versions have these quirks, what is the incentive to

buy a paid program from you, Comodo?

The reason the default is set to CLOSE is because the other options are destructive in nature. The safest way in these cases is to place the default focus on the non-destructive option, just in case people choose not to read what is in front of them and just press NEXT.

This isn’t meant as a condemnation of your actions. It is simply an acknowledgement of the fact that a lot of people do exactly what you did and just press ENTER.

Placing the focus on the non-destructive action saves people from themselves. This way, if a destructive action is undertaken, it is done solely as a result of a deliberate action from the end user.

Hope this helps,
Ewen

Hello there guys. You already know my opinion about your products, they are super, great, the number one in the world, so today i will tell you about my profile photo, the albino male lion, the white king, the god. Please admire his albino male qualifications, he is so strong, so powerful, so wise. He is invincible !!! The perfect creature, the albino supercat, the new generation. Please continue your perfect and excellent work. I am your most fanatic fan. Have a nice day and congratulations for one more time. Best regards. Johnny Nikolaidis - supercollector - catman. A. Have used CIS now for a couple years and have been very satisfied with how CIS performs. About 11 days back my system did start to slow down. First I did a basic cleanup of registry disk defrag etc… but the system remained slow, which was due to a large Page File causing the hard drive to work excessively. So, next I uninstalled all programs I had recently updated or installed. But no! At that point I was about to pull hair. But decided to uninstall CIS and re-install it fresh. This worked, the Page File shrunk and my PC’s hard drive was working again as it had before. I wonder what caused this? And how this can be prevented from happening again? Have I elected to make the wrong choice when CIS promted me to take action yes/no? And if, then what? :-\

B. During the process I upgraded Comodo System-Cleaner (CSC) to the latest version. And regretfully found out that it does not work as well as the previous version. CSC tries to carry out some updating of programs? The names of installed programs flash in a dialog box stating “UPDATING”? But CSC never finishes this task. And then refuses to carry out any other tasks before the “updating process” has completed! A perpetual circle???

Will appreciate Comodo’s guidance on what I should do, please?

Sorry to hear about your problems. You are posting in the wrong place here unfortunately.

When on older hardware with ,512MB RAM excluding the pagefile from the AV may help to keep a system more responsive.

With regard to the problem with CSC please take a look in the CSC board. The problem has been noticed before and in my case it mysteriously solved its self. When needed start a new topic in the CSC board.

All I can say is WOW! Your antivirus/firewall suite rocks so hard it’s difficult to believe it’s even real, more the less free. I love it! I love the essentially no impact on my system so I can use my computer without sharing it half the time with the antivirus engine. I love the customization. I love the features. I love everything. As soon as the economy starts to turn around, I’m starting a legal business, and buying my corporate antivirus licenses here!

Hi,

Tell me, why in the world is it that Comodo does not want to do ongoing business with me; I want to give them my business and I want their services but they act like they do not want any kind or anything to do with any ongoing business relationship with me for any reason. I semd them email after email and they do not respond accodingly to my individual matters at hand. It has really got to the point where I have had to send emails like the one below. I really would like someone in high-places to show some regard and interest in my affairs with Comodo, and don’t put me on ice. I need some assistance; is anyone out there?

Good Morning,

Would someone be kind enough to forward this correspondance to the desk or
technical support department of Samuel, who was my last contact with Comodo.
I am attempting to get some feedback or a reply regarding the issue I
previously emailed to him as seen below. I need to hear from him asap; it is
somewhat imperative. Please advise me of the status of this submitted
ticket. As I have already seen within the support domain, when I view
pending tickets already submitted there are still (3) including this one
that are still active/open, and have not yet found resolution and I have not
yet recieved feedback or a reply regarding these issues. Could someone be
kind enough to explain? I would like to do business with Comodo as I have
explained in past correspondance. Thank you for your assistance and interest
in being of service to me.

Respectfully,
WR_Cosgrove
