New Version 12.3.4.8162 Available for Comodo Internet Security 2025

Hello. I still do not run the browser in the container or on the virtual desktop in Comodo Internet Security Premium 12.3.4.8162 Final and 12.3.3.8152. Is CIS 12.2.2.8012 relevant?

If you are using CIS or CF and even if you have HIPS disabled, you need to remove “Windows Sockets Interface” from Protected Files in the HIPS settings which will allow network connection for contained apps. (as per this post).

Hello @EricCryptid ,
For this situation that I’m going through in this post below, will your tip work?

I just did this test.
but it still doesn’t work. :pensive:

If a program is virtual level as Restricted as set it the CruelSister configuration, you need to run what your containing as Partially Limited to allow for internet connection so you’ll need to create a separate containment rule for that as well as the HIPS amendment. I don;t have camfrog so haven’t tested at my end.

What I find most incredible is that I can run other programs like WORD, EXCEL AND OTHERS in containment.

But I can’t do this with this CAMFROG.exe program on my machine.

I set the self-containment to LIMITED and PARTIALLY LIMITED, I tried both, and it still didn’t work.

Regarding creating rules for this, unfortunately I don’t know how to do it. :pensive:

Have you whitelisted the program files folder for that app under File Ratings - File list? I’m just checking whether it installed without issue initially and whether it runs outside of containment.

I checked the file list and it’s not here.

This program works normally without being in containment.
It only gives this problem when I put it in self-containment.

When you click the Unrecognized files from the main UI, only lists what’s unrecognized. If you click to another setting tab and then back to the File List, you’ll see the full list of trusted files.

A bit on at this evening so I haven’t got time to check at my end at the moment. Was there anything in the logs?

What I find most interesting is that the files are all reliable

It was worth checking. I’m trying to narrow down your issue. Where there any firewall blocks for it?

Thanks for the help, I’ve tried everything, I’ve disabled HIPs, Firewall, I’ve tried everything I know. It still doesn’t work.

It only works in other programs like Word, Excel, VLC and others.

Hello, how are you?

This is actually a normal thing here, many times we don’t get a response from someone from COMODO.

Moderators are usually the ones who speak.

I’ve made several other posts and sent them to the COMODO team, but they haven’t responded yet.

But don’t worry, post here in case someone other than the COMODO team can help you.

When I first described my problem here I was totally mega ignored by everyone… I finally got the attention of one person who tried to help me, when this person realized that was unable to help me, asked COMODO_RT to help me and this person in turn asked me on priv for full logs… a month ago…

My problem is that comodo firewall one day by itself stopped monitoring the network… its diagnostics claims that everything is fine, meanwhile the network traffic overview is empty and the rules I have been using for several years no longer work… reinstalling didn’t help, cleaning with those ridiculous cleaning apps didn’t help, manually cleaning the registry and driverstore didn’t help, clean reinstallation of the operating system is out of the question any ideas?

I have no idea about this problem.

I wonder if you could explain your problem and include a screenshot of what you are saying for a better explanation.

I am having a problem where the auto-containment is not opening a program when I put it in auto-containment.

i posted many screenshots of this problem already in this thread (along with very detailed description of the issue and what i did to fix it that didn’t work) just scroll up enough… cannot give you fresh ones because until somebody tell me what to do to fix it i uninstalled useless firewall module and using antivirus only (currently using zone alarm free firewall :stuck_out_tongue: )

I can replicate your issue by disabling COMODO Internet Security Firewall Driver. Nothing shows up in the CIS interface for the network, but everything shows up in Killswitch. I’d check that 1. the driver is enabled and if it is, 2. no other security programs or otherwise are interfering with its operation.

By saying firewall driver enabled/disabled you mean ticked checkbox or not in NIC settings right? I had enabled driver there obviously and no had not other security programs at that time… the day before i noticed it stopped working (unable to monitor any network traffic) i updated my fortigate ssl vpn app (the only vpn not full package! never had/used full software from fortinet but only the vpn app for work) that i used parallel to comodo firewall for many years without any issues… of course uninstalling it completely didn’t fix the issue… IMO updating vpn app and comodo firewall failure was a coincidence cause on my other machine with older version of windows and CIS i have updated fortigate vpn app and it didn’t break comodo firewall…

my personal suspicion is that somehow windows defender or one of it’s maaaany modules spread across whole OS somehow weirdly accidentally blacklisted comodo firewall driver but i am totally clueless how to verify it to be absolute sure… currently it is supposed to be disabled but windows security features are so inconsistent i have no idea what is enabled and what is not… my list of blacklisted drivers" in windows security settings is empty…

I’m not sure right now, but I want to try out this Fortigate program and see if it does anything on my end. I have seen malware add various anti-virus program certificates to the untrusted certificate list, but you wouldn’t have been able to reinstall CIS if that happened.

I installed the VPN app, but it didn’t break anything. Something is preventing it from functioning.

Have you tried more basic Windows troubleshooting like the sfc /scannow command?
