New Version 12.3.4.8162 Available for Comodo Internet Security 2025
Hey everyone,
We’ve got more great news! We’ve just rolled out version 12.3.4.8162 of Comodo Internet Security 2025, which introduces two major updates:
Direct Upgrade from Existing Versions: You can now seamlessly upgrade to this version without requiring a fresh installation. Upgrade directly from within the CIS user interface by checking for updates.
Fix for Potential Containment Issue: We’ve addressed and resolved a potential containment issue, ensuring your system remains fully secure.
If you prefer a fresh installation, you can download the latest version directly from these links:
Thank you for your continued support and patience as we work to improve your security experience. If you have any feedback or encounter any issues, feel free to reach out!
When attempting to download/install Killswitch from within the GUI on this new build (8162), one will get a “Cannot Launch Setup- package corrupted” error (package shows 0 bytes).
Just as a note, for the previous build (8152), Killswitch can be installed without issue.
ps- thank you for the Containment tweak; much too much was made about a trivial issue.

From what I understand, only those who install the new version 12.3.4.8162 onwards and who are going to use this functionality will have to remove and install it again.
After that, it will work from the new version 12.3.4.8162 to the next ones.
That’s what I understood.
You should have the option to upgrade via available updates, CIS/CF check for program updates though reading the comments, it may be that it’s not been pushed yet. You can always export your configuration and do a fresh install.
Does Comodo have a quality control team that validates deliveries?
It’s incredible that there should be another delivery problem with this new version; this time it’s with KillSwitch.
For paying Comodo CIS users, shouldn’t we end up talking about Comodo gogo instead of Comodo fan, as @Umut says?
Comodo CIS users could be the vanguard of Xcitium in evaluating the evolutions made to the CIS client software. In fact, Comodo CIS users are Xcitium’s fifth wheel.
Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope that the next delivery will be free of installation problems. We can always hope; hope is what keeps us going.
Just had this very problem as well.Could get firefox to start but no connection when in containment. Uninstalled and went back to 12.3.3.8152 for the mean time.
Installation: no problem
Containment: no problem
virtuel desktop: can be installed but as in 8152 no browser nor explorer can be used, no folder can be opened and nor program. But everything functions with multicommander —> no problems
Killswitch: can’t be installed ("Cannot Launch Setup- package corrupted” error)
If your containment level is set to Restricted as with the @cruelsister setup, it blocks the contained files from connecting out. You need to create a containment rule for Firefox to be Partially Limited as described in her video from some years ago: Comodo Cruelsister Variation - Browser section
