Or, many would install PrivDog and COMODO will help protect their privacy. It all depends how you look at it. For me, PrivDog is good stuff. I always use it.
It’s good for Dragon and Chrome, not nearly as good for IE. The IE version is not good enough yet, in my opinion, to be included in the CIS install at all. It actually completely prevents some sites from loading.
i don’t need a virtual 4 legs animal to protect me.
The 1st protect tool is me.
And i use firefox beta channel. Don’t think privdog is ok for that.
So, i know i can continue my update when i uncheck crosses.
i talk for commons user who was seduced by this V6.
with this falsely forced option, comodo falls through in his.
let us do what we want.
The Comodo browser sandbox can also help protect you.
Why would you use IE in the first place?
No, the question should be why would you use additional ad-blocking software in IE, when IE9 and above comes with Tracking Protection built-in. It’s easier to just install the two Easylist Tracking Protection Lists from the Microsoft website, which takes about 10 seconds.
I use IE because to me, it’s the best and most convenient to use. I bookmark a page and it gets added to the Favorites list that can be easily accessed through the Start menu letting me launch the browser to whatever page I want. No other browser does this. I also greatly prefer the download and cookie management interfaces to those of any other browser. The SmartScreen filter also does an excellent job against malicious sites and phishing. Out of the box, IE is the most secure browser out there compared to the alternatives in their out of the box configurations. I won’t use stuff like No Script because they are too much like an annoying classic HIPS.
I use tracking protection lists from Abine and Privacychoice. They do the job just fine. PrivDog in IE prevents one of my most visited sites, mmo-champion.com, from loading at all. I just get a blank white screen. The site does load in Dragon however.

Thanks.
LOLOL, no.
+1 LOL
Before you go on LOLing, remember that the SmartScreen Filter is quite effective, I think that’s what he was referring to.

Nice :-TU, thx for the link
Why would we bother with the AV qualities of a browser. It is bloating the browsers…
+1
You can laugh all you want but it’s a known fact that Chrome and even more, Firefox, have to have addons added to the default setup for security to come up to the level that IE has in it’s default configuration.
I too find IE default config security better than other browsers default.
Usability also better, like download window, bookmarks, etc… but this is my opinion/preference.
I don’t see the need for bloated browsers. Ever since the days of XP SP2 every user is aware to run an av alongside at least the by default enabled Windows firewall.
It’s the wrong paradigm. With Chromium based browsers processes are run sandboxed by default. However, one could argue whether a browser should have a sandbox. Why not let a security program provide it?
??? Are you serious? Bloat? IE doesn’t come with a large virus database from what I hear, it’s all in the cloud, and if IE is slower or less advanced than other browsers then you may call that bloat as you like, but not because of a feature that enhances protection with a negligible performance hit (much smaller than an AV checking every file).
Here I’m with you :-TU
