COMODO Internet Security 3.9.95478.509 Released!

Thanks for explaining. I did a clean install on one machine and the DB is 1160. I updated my other machine through the updater and it’s at 1157. I’ll do another update tomorrow to fix the problem (on the 1157 machine) and report back the results! :-TU

Till then, UpdatePath string that will work is “av/updates39” instead of “av/beta39”. Did the work here, with imported rules from RC2, now I’m with the full 1160 (“big” download, bases.cav is now 86.206KB).

Thanks COMODO for such a great product. Just installed CIS 3.9 and the AV found 7 malware which my previous av did not find. :comodorocks:

Btw are these files false positives? (Check the results below on the attachment) They were found while scanning trough C:\Windows\ with High Heuristics.

:comodorocks: (:CLP) :comodo110: I have just had a hard days fishing!. I came back to find i was now able to download version 3.9507 final.Been waiting for this one. Download went smoothly without any hiccups whatsoever and everything is as it should be!!. Wonderful app this one. Congratulations to Melih, and the developers and all those who took part in beta testing, including myself!.

Now lets get the version between this one and version 4 going as well, and get the detection rate to where it should be, and kick some ■■■.

Did a clean install. And my first impression is that D+ has indeed become less noisy
That’s good :-TU :ilovecomodo:

I am also happy to have contributed to this.

After a clean install of xxx.507, I notice there is no longer a “Scan with Comodo Antivirus” or “Comodo Antivirus” in the right click context menu. None present in My Computer, Windows Explorer or Total Commander.

WinXP Pro SP3
Total Commander 7.04a

I also did a clean install but its still there, im on XP MediaCenter SP3 only CIS

It’s OK here, without any shell issue, AV is doing its job flawlessly.

Nice, very nice!

Kudos to all involved. ;D :-TU

Thanks Umesh for the good feedback and also Egemen here with lots of feedback.
Really appriciated :-TU :-TU

:comodorocks:

Thank you and good job Comodo. :-TU

Thanks Egemen & team for all the hard work on CIS, I just finished a clean reinstall & AV DB is at V.1160 as it should be after a clean install, everthing is working great. :-TU :-TU
Regards, kick back and have a good cold one now…
Cheers :■■■■

Is it ok just to do a manual update? Or is it best to do a complete uninstall and reinstall then import your settings? I did a manual update and it went in just fine.

The manual update is OK. You’ll have to wait until tomorrow for the next update to correct the CAV Database updater. There’s a small glitch preventing the DB update and they are planning a fix for that soon.

Not using CAV as my user shows.

HAIL COMODO!

Few months ago I’ve reported very poor HDD performance hit caused by CIS AV. I’ve just checked the latest 3.9 release and the problem is gone! It may be due to stateful … mode which I guess is a compromise between performance and security but let it be that way. I use my head anyway. I’ve run few simple tests:

CIS 3.9.76924.507 XP 32 bit quick performance test
2GB ram, pagefile on RAM disk

Avast! / COMODO AV
analyzing single partition
windirstat1 42s / 38s IT USED TO TAKE MINUTES WITH COMODO AV BEFORE!!!
windirstat2 10s / 12s

perfectdisk - analyze only
perfectdisk1 8s / 10s
perfectdisk2 6s / 6s

Open OOo. document (without OOo quickstarter)
run1 14s / 12s
run2 4s / 5s

Thank You!

You should try each test 2 times, the second time is when Statefull kicks in

I did two passes of each test. I don’t need special measurments here if Avast allowed to do something in 40 s and COMOD AV bloated the operation to last few minutes. It’s not the case anymore! And what’s more I’ve just checked it with the On access realtime scanner mode. Same - the HDD issue is a history! I hope so…
