Evernote might have others ways to update itself (when it is a trusted app) without using a powershell script.
But not sure.

he can upload the file to Xcitium Valkyrie and Xcitium will rate it

OMG Comodo, can we have some moderation here please!

This is a very good idea! There would need to be direct access to Valkirye from CIS…

Yes, I’m sure you’d like to talk about the beta version. We don’t want to stop you…

But you’d better hurry… it’ll be out soon…

To label a security software company as untrustworthy for political reasons alone is childish, like a child arguing…

Comodo Online Security extention is basically something obsolete, useless kinda thing, not able to detect or block realtime malicious or phising websites , it was blocked by some other extension, this is the major flaw when any security extensions aren’t updated for ages, also some malicious files were dropped that weren’t detected by the realtime antivirus protection or any modules of Comodo latest beta 3, hope we all can guess where and how much improvements are really required to be made before releasing the final stable version of CIS 2024.
Web Filtering

COS hasn’t been updated in 4 years and was never part of CIS installation unlike other internet security packages. It comes with Comodo Dragon Browser and COS has it’s own board Comodo Online Security.

Your phishing and bad website protection is down to the browser, not CIS. CIS will protect you wherever you get the malware from and it’s web filtering only works with Firefox in blocking a site listed in the Website Database. Hopefully that will improve but that element of CIS hasn’t been updated for some time now. It’s like for example, Internet Security Essentials, that only worked with Internet Explorer but some elements of it integrated into CIS itself. Projects evolve.

Anyway, looking forward to what other changes are made beyond TDT technology and which of the relevant bugs are fix when the stable comes out.

CIS wasn’t able to detect some dropped malicious files from that website which has to be detected and removed by some other 3rd party scanners. Till time is left that Comodo acknowledges all the security flaws and weakness and get it fixed in the final stable release.

We have heard enough of this and that which doesn’t works in the real world while protecting millions of users systems that’s that.

Does anyone want to see this new option arrive?

The problem is that when everyone lists the shortcomings they notice, the list becomes long.

Active malware running on system again checked today despite Comodo latest beta 3 installed and completely undetected by anything in Comodo , it was detected by a different program and removed again.
Requesting serious improvements to be made in terms of the overall betterment of the antivirus and antimalware engine and its detection/protection/proper removal capabilities of all and any kinds of threats and malwares.

VirusTotal Link? Valkyrie Verdict link? SHA number?

Please submit under this topic: Submit Malware Here To be Blacklisted.

Have submitted and checked all this multiple times, the only thing that is pending to see is the proper improvement in the antivirus engine and it’s realtime and proactive protection/detection and proper and complete cleanup capabilities of any kind of threats and malwares from the system that’s that.

You may have submitted it to Virus Total but that’s only static AV engine detection for AVs.

I’m wondering whether it’s worth adding .js to the Decompress and scan archive file extensions in the AV settings. It’d be great to see all the archive file types added into that list or the AV engine to automatically do that. Hopefully the added TDT element can assist with the detections when the final is released.

Their HQ is in UK and data are processed in Switzerland. If you don’t download your client from their Russian site, they won’t go there.
Every company are in Russia anyway.
Name an AV company that has its source code available for review? None beside Kaspersky.

Checked file on Virus Total. Detections = 0. Virus Total

360 Total Security not one of the VT vendors, this is a 360 False Positive!

Still waiting on Valkyrie Analysis but I expect it will also be negative.

Thanks for checking that, it was a confirmed malware present on the system that Comodo missed, not only 360 Total security but Malwarebytes, hitmanpro & Emsisoft emergency kit detected that one as well on running on demand scan which Comodo’s active detection & realtime protection missed and this is happening on various scenarios, so only way of fixing this is to make serious amount of improvement in the antivirus engine and it’s signatures/proactive protection & detection and proper removal & cleanup capabilities of any traces of malwares from any part of the system wherever that’s that.
