In this post, I attached a screen on what happens when CSS starts.

Hello DeathCat,
Yes I saw that but in that img i didn’t saw any error status code.
When you start safe shopping, only this message that the browser could not be verified. By clicking OK, the window closes, shopping does not start.
Also, if you delete shopping from the system, you can’t install it again from the program interface and it remains in the menu in the advanced protection section.

Hello heffiji,
- Please use the latest Comodo Uninstaller Tool (Select upon your windows bit) for the complete Uninstall of the CIS. Then install and check.
- For CIS update issue : I will check with the team again.

The uninstaller seems like running forever. It is still removing MSI components, so I stop it.
I will go back to the previous version. Too many uncertainties with this version.
Hello DeathCat,
Let me check that again,Please wait.
Sorry for the trouble.
Hello heffiji,
Sorry for the trouble.Let me again inform that to the corresponding team.
I removed comodo firewall through the add function in window 10. Then I ran the uninstaller software. This time it worked. I have used the offline installer to clean install the 7036. The update is going through cdn.download.comodo.com. I can and will live with that meanwhile.
Thanks for your help.
I would uninstall the Beta (if that is what is installed) and install the public release and make sure my host file is correct for the public release.
I would do that if I could download the file - it says file not found. Probably has to do with the SSL problem?
Hello heffiji,
It simply removing all of the CIS products/components and it’s an normal behavior.
Regarding certificate issue : Corresponding teams are working in it.I’m frequently checking with them,Once done i will inform.
Hello DeathCat,
After removing CSS I can able to install the CSS on a first attempt without any problem.
I tried multiple times in my environment but I can’t able to reproduce this issue again.
You cannot, but I can. But it doesn’t matter anymore, I deleted shopping anyway it was useless.
What else I noticed. When installing CIS online by the installer, I indicate Internet Security Essentials, but after the installation is complete, it is not in the applications.
Thank you for your response ![]()
We will check that and get back to you.
I know that you will answer, if the problem is not repeated, as with shopping, and if you repeat, then decide. But preferably faster than a year the unresolved problem with the disappearing tray icon.
Happened to others also. Go to C:\ProgramData\Comodo\ISE\ise_installer.exe. If you see the installer there, try running it from there.
I had another opportunity to uninstall/re-install CIS. This time over a VPN service. This can serve as advice for anyone installing a VPN with Comodo FW. Comodo firewall caused minor hiccups when installing the VPN but it seemed to work… for the most part. I had to whitelist 3 VPN files but there was some inconsistent behavior from the VPN. This being my first VPN, I needed to get with customer support to find out how the program was supposed to work/look/behave. I felt what I had was less than 100% correct.
So I uninstalled CIS through programs and features. That seemed to go well. Was annoyed with multiple Windows security software popups for the short time that it was in control. Then uninstalled the VPN. Re-installed the VPN. Tested and made sure it was working as hoped/expected. Then reinstalled CIS 12.2.2.7036 with offline installer. Everything was working, no hiccups. Then the next day after a reboot, Comodo FW blocked two VPN files. Whitelisted both and back to normal for now. My wife’s laptop uses Windows FW and went without incident.
Lesson: You may need to uninstall the firewall when installing a VPN.
Yes - it’s a known and reported issue with some VPN installations: VPN Tap Adapter
So, I tried to get v12.0.0.6818 back, because it was rock stable, but turns out that installer is just the same as this one.
Am I stuck with 7036 now?
Unfortunately this particular version crashes occasionally, which in turn slowly freezes the whole PC in a weird “you can close stuff, but not start stuff” kind of way. Oh and shutdown doesn’t work either, so it’s the reset button every time…
It’s pretty rare, like once a week, but it never used to do this until I installed 7036.
I’d give you some info on the error, but apparently uninstalling Comodo also got rid of the crash events in the event viewer for whatever reason, or maybe it was the Comodo clean up tool I’ve used.
Something about crash 0x0000005c in cavwp.exe and the failing module is platform.dll.
I’m also on Windows 10 2004, if that helps. I basically installed the Windows upgrade and 7036 on the same day, because I read that 6818 was giving some people grief with the upgrade.
So technically I don’t even know if it’s Comodo that’s causing the crashes, or this new Windows upgrade. Unless I can try 6818 again I won’t know.
You can try the previous version(s) offline Installers from here: Versions for Testing
Thanks for that link!
Just to make sure, because now I’m being confronted with all those different versions, 6818 was the last version that had been pushed to the automated update function of CIS, right?
