To install 7036 was easy. To uninstall with a special uninstaller is not only limited to comodo. I didn’t delete anyting in the registry. Online installing without any problems and 7036 runs and runs and runs. That I got a BOSD shortly when trying to reset the container that’s the least of my problems (I forgot to end virtkiosk etc. in th task manager).
It’s not the nicest way to react when someone tries to help.
On my system (Windows 7 64-bit) cmdagent.exe CPU loading is only 0.01 % with default installation of CIS V12.2.2.7036 (so without making any modifications to svchost FW rule).
Cmdagent.exe (also known as Comodo Internet Security Helper Service) does not handle AV tasks. It used to also handle AV tasks before Comodo decided to split off the AV tasks by introducint the cavwp.exe process.
Cmdagen.exe is the under water process that does the protective work. It also communicates with the Inspect package filter driver.
I assume that a Firewall only installation also needs cavwp.exe running for some closely related AV tasks because it is also listed and running in the process list.
Windows 10 Pro x64 Build 19041.329
CIS Pro v.12.2.2.7036
PC at launch freezes (Windows security error)
Disconnection (Ctrl + Alt + Suppr) reconnect = Ok
CIS diag = Ok
SFC /scannow = Ok
Windows logs = hash guard64.dll> error (hash problem)
attached temp files
Today I installed CIS again.
I did not uninstall with the cleanup tool, but only with the uninstaller.
With the CCleaner I deleted some registry entries - that was all.
Then I installed with the online installer: No problems. :-TU
