Just read and you will see the way things are going either you geek the interface up and loose the common man able to use the software or you leave it simple and the geeks will find another software more to there geek liking. As they say or I say with one interface you can’t make it user friendly and geek information rich. So Comodo will have to choose sooner or later a program for the masses or the one for the geeks. But with only one interface type to choose from you can’t please both groups.

Is it like that because a have CIS6 on board or is it because any question about security I have are always answered on the Comodo forum . Lot of IT Geeks are always happy to help and any even maybe a stupid question is not let without answer.
Soooo if we get for example two version of CIS ,then it will be logical to make two version of Comodo Forum.
One for the Geeks and the second one for the no clou about.

I miss version 5.12… Seemed much lighter and easy to set up. I am giving this one a chance for a week . Just don’t want version 5.12 to go obsolete. Which is why I will probably stick with CIS 6 .
As long as Comodo keeps supplying the AV Databases, 5.12 will be around for a long time. I think that v6.0 and 5.12 share the same DB, so there should be a long future for 5.12.
That’s what I hope. Not trying to bring shame on the newer version. It’s just not so much for me. I’m going to try to go back to version 5.12 now again. If all else fails after some period of time. The firewall will always be kicking with it. And it’s a good one .

I was forced to go back to 5.12 because 6.0 kills my Internet connection. There are a few new features I like in 6.0 and hopefully the devs will refine the GUI. I don’t use the GUI that much, so the new design doesn’t bother me that much. I would like to see some of the settings become less buried. Give the guys some time for refinement. I feel they rushed the release a little, but it’s not being officially being pushed as an update yet. Those presently using 6.0 are basically still testing it out and positive feedback always helps.
It might not have been pushed out as an update but it is what you get when you download CIS from the main Comodo site. You’re making it sound like it’s still a beta and it is not.
Just unistalled CIS6 and went back to 5.12 . I’ll wait around till I like a newer version. Perfectly happy with 5.12.
In my opinion, it’s still a beta. They released it way too soon. There were only 3 betas released and one was pulled back. There was no RC. They just went from Beta 2 to Release. Such a short time for thorough testing.
The sad is, the new interface was made FOR your demand.
Things get hidden. Nothing to get nervous about. Install and forget.
If i had to decide, comodo version 3 with defense+, without sandbox, without antivirus would be the current version. Supported with updates. For keeping up to the new threads. That was a safe thing.
All the other climbim has been added to make people like you happy. “Userfriendlyness”.
I can not understand how someone could use something without trying to have an idea. I dont know exactly how to make a (television), but i have an idea about how it works. And i know what each button does.

I disagree. if anything they should just make 2 modes for the interface. simple and advanced. also I know plenty of geeks who have low paying jobs. I believe comodo has the right things in there paid versions. no need in making people pay for an advanced interface with more customization. if they did that I wouldn’t be able to maximize my families security unless they paid for the advanced version. you could say comodo could make the simple version set with maximum security but one size doesn’t fit all plus it would cut into the job of geek buddy which would make them lose money for configuring the simple version with maximum security which could prevent a lot of users from using there computer the way they need to which would cause a lot of other users to go else where. there’s more demand for those that need computer help then there are those who need advanced GUI. so comodo will make more money with geek buddy then making people pay for advanced GUI. this is a sink or swim world. the day you give up on learning is the day you die. not saying comodo shouldn’t try and make things as simple as possible but they also need to give users a good amount of customization. just because average users don’t understand the options doesn’t mean comodo needs to make geeks pay for. you want a simple solution then use mse but you won’t get the same level of security even with default settings for cis and mse with maximum security settings

I am not against the idea of two interfaces in one program to cover this, one basic the other advanced as long as it is free for all.
Geek does not equal wealth.
Free for all is the only way to go and we should never discriminate against anyone’s ability or lack of.

Its from a Forum witch belong to a very expencive & good Security system produckt.
I downloaded and installed it 5 days ago. It did not install correctly, there were parts of it missing, no safesearch/ safesearch toolbars in webbrowsers, small B icon in system tray at bottom of screen showing “service loading” and not working, no antispam box/antispam toolbar in windows mail, no security widget, no safe pay icon.
The support seems to not care about customers,the first time i contacted and sent a log file ,i was given a ticket number and waited, no reply then i contacted by live chat, they just told me it would be logged. After trying uninstalling/reinstalling about 4 times myself i got an e mail after 2 days. All it said was to try and repair and the instructions and text line was just copied from the support page. I could have tried that myself if they told me straight away when i contacted them. I tried repair, it stuck and had to contact them again as i had no security and my pc would not do anything.They told me to just try a reboot or turn off. I shut it down and tried to continue the repair i did not work. I contacted again thru live chat, i had to explain it all again, then was asked for my phone number and available times. I was told it would be escalated to level 2. I expected a call . Nothing, after a day and a half i contacted them again, was told they do not call, that it would be escalated. i persisted to ask for removal tool and download link to try while waiting for their e mail response. because i had downloaded from a link and tried it 4/5 times it would not let me do anymore. (this download limit was never mentioned.) I used them and fully uninstalled and reinstalled it. I managed to get the Safepay working, but none of the other things mentioned earlier.I am still waiting for a reply, i have done more work fixing it on my own than the help they gave me and after 6 days it is still not fully working as it should and i am waiting for another e mail.I have tried everything, all uninstall tools for previous security, and they just leave you waiting, will not call or resolve it while you chat or try and do it for you. If it is not fixed soon i will have to ask for refund and get another security. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/angry.gif) which is a shame as bought this for the reviews and extra features it has.

You people here don’t understand the average computer user. They want security without the fuss of answering questions from there security suite that are written that only a computer geek head would understand. I’ll give you a example my niece is a nurse and at work she has more important things to do when inputting data than to answer a question about a software that Comodo doesn’t recognize. So for her at work Comodo is pretty much worthless. And take my wife she doesn’t want to answer 3 to 5 questions from CIS 6 every time we get a program update from a program that CIS doesn’t recognize. And I myself have submit the program Startup Delayer it is a safe program but every time I install it CIS sandbox it when it tries to start. and yes I’ve have given Comodo enough time to review the program. The first time I submitted the file was over a year ago and since then have done it 3 other times. But unless I make a exception to not to sandbox it it gets sandbox even with CIS 6.

Maybe you would have been happy with version 3/the principle too
If you want something to run, you let it run (ONE time answer a single question or two).
If you dont want to let it run, it can not run.
I would call that userfriendly instead.
Hmmm… 50/50…sometimes Comodo is still quiet with problems… maybe they read all and listen every User, but an answer u will not get always.
