Nobody has said anything about it being version 6.1.
A couple of hours! That seems like an awful lot if the new interface is supposed to be directed toward the novice users.
As for those already familiar with CIS, I, for one, was willing to spend the time to learn something new. Based on the comments here and my own experience (all while knowing sometimes old knowledge can interfere with new learning), even these users found it difficult, awkward or time consuming. This is with already knowing what they were looking for and, presumably, a familiarity with a variety of interface styles.
I think that Comodo is great and that v.6 does have a lot to offer, but it seems the user interaction has managed to satisfy, on the whole, neither the novice nor the advanced user.
If Comodo comes through, as it always has in the past, I will be looking forward to the development of v.6
It certainly did not take me a couple of hours to figure out the UI. It was more like 15 or 20 minutes at the most and I had absolutely no prior knowledge of what it would be like. I found it very intuitive.
Some of you “people(?)” on here, LOL!

Thank you, it is just the way it should be.
Can we have an Advance Interface option somewhere… :THNK
Better say, we want the normal interface back
All added userfriendlyness of the new userinterface is, that things got hidden.
No one has a benefit from that.
I could have just set it up for them and said call me if you run into any problems, but i am thorough, i want to ensure they could manage for themselves, and these “people” were complete novices, had never interacted with this type of program… I not only set it up for them, with them watching, but then went through their most used programs, trying each one to see if any would be unrecognized and sandboxed, and if so, i would then show the person how to react to the pop ups, things like on the HIPS and Firewall alerts, the drop down arrow that explains if the program is deemed safe or not ect. It was not that it took hours to show them, I made them take a few hours each doing their normal task as i watched over to help and make sure they would be fine with it. I have an old retired farmer who is not “technology” proficient running this software and actually enjoying it. They were all made aware that bugs may be present yet, as it is still the first release, all are ok with this, they are just happy to be running something that does not use half their system resources “bogging down their systems” and is free.
Personally, i think Comodo is on the right track with this new version, the ability for a novice to sandbox their browser is in its self, going to be a highlight for most.
It is still a new release though, and there will be things needing ironed out, a lot of work has gone into this already, as well as more will be down the road.
I’m disappointed with CIS 6, I made some suggestions that I think they’re necessary to help make it good again, also read what others suggest, they’re concerned and offer good POVs.
CCE will be integrated in CIS in features, or will remain optional like now? If will remain optional like now would be great.
Any New Infos for a New release
The translators got a new version so they could translate it into more languages. I do not know if this means a new version if coming soon though.
Thank you very much for your information
I think it will be released ~2 weeks from now.
Is the next minor release just a translations release.?..thats the impression im getting here.
I am not sure. Maybe Comodo will add more besides the languages. I am hoping they do.
GUI is the same so I guess it will be bugfix edition.
Bugfix is great in the coming update more will change in better
Bug fixes are always good. It is not good when average users have problems. They will usually not know how to fix the problems.
Well…
I really love Comodo, I’m using it since v1, when it had a command-line like interface. I know that everyone should keep up with the trends to be competitive, but this new METRO interface is too much for me…
I’ll stay with v5.12 as long as it’s possible…
Anyway, still love comodo, but I hope there will be a more admin friendly (or I know what I’m doing) interface…
