COMODO Internet Security 2013 v 6.0.260739.2674 released!

Only little quirk i have discovered is when purging the hips settings page.the window will not close and i have to close comodo and then open again. 8)

(Emphasis added by me)

That is annoying.

Another issue is the ads. Yes, I use the free version, but the ads are beginning to be quite annoying. It's ironic to install software to combat spam and popups to have it's own.

What ads? I also use the free edition but I don’t see any ads.

Hi and welcome JeffSD,
Do you mean the start-up welcome screen or Messages from COMODO Message Center?
If yes to either, you can disable them through Customize User Interface.
Kind regards.

To stop the program update checker you have to disable the automatic update. Then to stop the ads in Comodo Firewall you first go to advanced settings, then under general settings you will find the user interface settings, and finally you uncheck show messages from Comodo message center. Hope this helps.

Hi costerin,
That is interesting, the CIS Product page does indeed state 152 MB Ram is the requirement as you say.

CIS Help states 256MB Ram required on XP and 384MB Ram required on Vista/Win7/Win8.

Conflict between the two, my guess is the Product page has not been updated because previous versions requirement was 152MB Ram.
Edit: Fixed broken link.

Not yet.

XP/XP SP1A - No. Everything else - yes.

(:WIN) A big cup of coffee for someone who fix it.

Because we know information is a verry expencive & important ware.

Do I deserve half a cup because of this post? ;D

Hi hope i am not out of line.
I have disabled the program updater, but it still updates automatically, several times a day, today it even updated when i was doing window updates. Very frustrating.
EDIT
So in my case comodo updates when it wants, disregarding any update settings i have.

cheers

Program updates are not the same thing as AV database updates.

By default product update is set to 1 day but sometimes it check for updates twice i.e quite a few times I got the update window & then 2-3 mins later again update window.

I have set database update to 1 hour but sometimes it check for updates before 1 hour i.e 40-45 mins & sometimes twice in 1 hour.

If you are finding that it is checking for program updates more than once per day please report this as a bug. By default the most often it should check is once per day.

Thanks.

I had CIS 6.0…2560 - the first beta on one my comp. I was proud to have the first beta - it must be a very rare thing in our rapidly changing world. Moreover it worked perfectly. I’ve read somewhere in the forum that it cannot update itself so I was sure that the thing would stay intact and hadn’t changed program update settings …

Suddenly it started program update and I got the latest CIS 6.0…2674 with all the settings from the previous version. OK I have to bear to have comp without the first beta.

Thank you, COMODO

;D

Is there any way to make it work with Comodo Offline Updater or another centralized update server?

That is strange. Maybe it is a bug. I am sorry that you are having this problem. Maybe one of the mods can help you. Have a nice day.

This does sound like a bug. Please report it in this section of the forum and be sure to follow the full format from this topic.

Thanks.

It is more hard to use, at least for me :‘(
Any chance to add a button with advanced gui in the tray? (gui version 5’ like ) or better to add a transformable GUI. In order that anyone will be able mange gui like he/she wants:) Otherwise, meanwhile I am looking for other firewall…
