Comodo firewall not running at startup [merged topic]

Hi iTony888,
First up download/save the attachment from qmarius’s post, then right click the zipped folder to extract the .xml document and save to a known location.
In the external link below, scroll down on instructions on how to import a task into Windows Task Scheduler.
How to Import / Export (Backup / Restore) Tasks Using Task Scheduler in Windows?-askvg

Hope that helps.
Edit: Reworded.

Captainsticks beat me to it…

You need to import the XML file in Task Scheduler (Control Panel → Administrative Tools) under Action → Import Task. A dialogue box will show up; make sure you set the Windows version you’re using.

If you installed CIS on a non standard path you will have to edit the XML file.

Thanks and that worked. Comodo Firewall now launches on startup with both my computers.

You are welcome, that is good to hear that it is now functioning correctly. :-TU

Thank you all, using this XML fix helped me to get Comodo Firewall to start at startup. I hope they fix it as an offical patch soon.

Hi.
Add “CisTray” exe file to Start-up folder as a shortcut. Problem solved.

You can find CisTray.exe at C:/Program Files/COMODO/COMODO Internet security/ (presuming you are running 64 bit windows 8.1)

You can find the start-up folder by one of these 2 options 1. run “shell:startup” (without quotes) 2. c:/users/(YOUR NAME)/Appdata(hidden folder)/Roaming/Microsoft/Windows/Start Menu/Programs/

I had this problem with comodo not starting (well some of the firewall components were active I think its just all the gui and notifications that are not working for me) and above works fine for me, everything back to normal

Hi,

I followed the instructions (well explained here) and same day i had the problem, same day got resolved.

Thank you all for that.

I just have one question, when does this issue will get resolved?, and I’m talking about the last release, not beta. That way, other “basic” users doesn’t have to do all of this fixes to have one of the best firewalls nowadays wirking fine.

Bye.

It’s solved with the new CIS v8.

Yes, and Hopefully it stays fixed.

Thanks for the quick response,

Correct me if I’m wrong, but is just the complete and pro version of CIS that has version 8? the free version doesn’t have it? Will it get soon to v8?

Thanks.

All versions use the same program. The differences between CIS Free and the Pro and Complete versions are the extra services you pay for.

The update is not yet on the program updater. That usually comes in a couple of weeks. The installer of v8 can be downloaded from the release topic COMODO Internet Security 8.0.0.4337 is released!.

You guys rocks,

Thank you.

I’m running Windows 7 and have just realised that CIS is not running automatically i.e. when I boot the pc or come out of sleep mode. I switched the widget to always on top but this is not showing. Don’t know if this is the same problem as above for Windows 8 but would appreciate any suggestions.

Can you check with task manager which of the following are running during boot or coming out of sleep mode:
cmdagent.exe
cis.exe
cistray.exe
cavwp.exe

What version of CIS are you using/
