Hope so Mike.

Thx,
Egemen

GREAT!
Downloaded it and am ready to install. Just one little problem (ongoing), after entering my name and email address and clicking the submit button, I did get the download, but the window that originally came up several months ago when I downloaded my first CPF, is still coming up to “The page cannot be displayed”. Everytime I’ve tried to do this to obtain a current activation key, this page appears and I never receive the email that contains the key. It’s like the process just doesn’t complete. I’ve even tried using Firefox instead of IE. Same problem.

Egemen, can you tell me what I’m doing wrong or tell me how to work around this so that I can obtain a valid and current key? The name and email address I’m using is:
Clem Patafio, clem@it-wiz.com.

Thanks in advance for both the great product and the help… (:CLP)

Clem

Hi Clem,

Just PMed you a license key. In the future, if you see the same error, you can always send an email to support@comodo.com and they will send you a key immediately.

Good luck,
Egemen

Ok, I got the new version and yes I like it.

I have freshly formatted the drive and installed Windows XP, SP2 and CPF, so it’s quite strange and unexpected…

Thank you for the feedback. Comodo Launchpad updater crashed I guess. You can download the fresh copy from www.personalfirewall.comodo.com and reinstall until we find and fix the bug in launchpad.

Egemen

Same error. So I did download the last version. Have I to uninstall the old one before installing this one ?

Yes, It is always better to uninstall the old version then install the new version.

absolutely BRILLIANT!!! fixed all the bugs that were driving me crazy in 2.2! GREAT JOB COMODO! best software firewall i have ever used. low on memory, easy to set up, effective…and every single bug so far was squashed! this software is a definite keeper, and i will recommend it to everyone i know.

Thank you for quick answer, gwheaton (:WAV)

Nice, working great, as did the last beta, but if I remember correctly, you said there should be an option to not install the launch pad, no? It’s nice we are now able to disable it after installation, but I don’t want it even installed, especially because it installs in its own folder and not in the folder I specified for installation.

Right-click on the launchpad-icon and choose options.

Edit: Sorry…didn’t saw that you already know how to disable it…sorry! I will learn to read ALL text from now on

When updating from 2.2 to the current version, if you have to uninstall, don’t you lose all your settings and then have to go through popup hell again in approving all the programs?

Is there another option?

Hi,

You can backup your rules and settings by exporting the following registry key and its subkeys the import them back again:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Software\Comodo\Personal Firewall

Mike

Mike, thanks for the response. Regedit question (not afraid to play in there, just inexperienced):

In the reg area you directed me, I highlighted personal firewall in the left pane and exported. Does that cover all the bases? Or do I have to click on each subfolder, and each subfolder’s subfolder to do this right?

Hi,

Yes, this fine as you’ve done it.

Mike

Thanks, Mike. That’s a relief. Have you seen how many subfolders there are??? (:TNG)
