Chromium Browsers

Just wanted to know which Chromium based browser do you use and why

I’m using Comodo Dragon. I haven’t heard of Chrome Plus or SRWare Iron but have used Google Chrome. If something doesn’t work in Dragon, then it’s Opera, Firefox and lastly IE.

The reason I use Dragon, is because I trust Comodo in what they do (i.e protect my system). Although Dragon is still in beta, I’m looking forward to it’s future.

ChromePlus has more options than CD or Google Chrome

I think youll find that asking on a comodo forum will not give accurate results ;D
Ask on aanother forums that is not directly affiliated with a Chronium Browser.

ChromePlus has more options than CD
I can't argue that, I know CD will have much more features in the future.

As a side not: I’ll tell you what CD never had AND never will. But the Chrome versions do have ( I’ll just copy and paste some important features CD won’t ever get, but chrome will )

Client-ID: Chrome creates a unique ID through which a user can be theoretically identified.

Timestamp: Chrome remembers up to the second exactly when the software was installed.

Suggest: Depending on the configuration, each time you put something in the address line, this information is sent to Google to provide suggestions.

RLZ-Tracking: This Chrome-function transmits information in encoded form to Google, for example, when and where Chrome has been downloaded.

URL-Tracker: Calls depending on the configuration five seconds after launch the Google homepage opens in background

Mind to share a source?

I have other, NON chrome browser. I use Firefox, it’s not the safest browser but it works out of the box correct. CD still does not work on my machine.

Google Chrome V4 right now. CD is still a baby and I’m not a big “beta” guy. Chrome does have an “Incognito” option if you’re paranoid.

Not only Chrome has Incognito. If -incognito is added to the shortcut’s Target, Dragon/Chrome starts in Incognito mode. More command lines

I was not aware of that, thanks for the info.

CD isn’t in Beta right now. It’s a stable release.

You are correct. Thanks for the heads up/correction on that.

I installed chrome plus and now cant uninstall it. :-\

I had the same problem when I used it as my default browser it wouldnt let my new default browser open urls or favorites.
I used this to remove all chromium browsers from the registry, maybe it can be of use to you.

Make sure you edit it accordingly before use tho;especially if you have any Google stuff installed :)

Thanks very much :-TU ^^ I guess this iwll effect my dragon install though?

Yeah but once you open Dragon again the registry entries will recreate themselves.
If it is your current default browser just make sure you affirm this setting when you next use Dragon.

The “Chromium” registry entries are the ones specific to Dragon as well as all chrome browsers.
You should know tho that all your user settings are in your profile so that wont be affected.
Most of these entries are what are produced when you have a chrome browser as your default.
The rest just map the browser’s location/install directory on your system.

Tried out Dragon and I must say I really like it so far. :-TU It may even be faster than Chrome but it’s too close to tell.

If you want to test which one is the fastest: http://service.futuremark.com/peacekeeper/index.action 8)

speed…
hmm…

we have some ideas how to speed Dragon ;)…
If you want to read how it works…then go to Shane’s room and see it on his white board

Melih

You’re on a roll today Melih! ;D

Speed and privacy is the key IMO so whatever you guys have planned I’m sure will be great.
