So. All in all. And from reading through out this thread. BOClean is a product that is staying on board and will still continue to be offered as a single app. if you choose so right?
That’s what we all hope for but that hasn’t been stated by Comodo. More on the contrary.
Please point out to us where you read that in this thread? I’d say “all in all” you came to the wrong conclusion.
I think it will only depend on Comodo, and how they will make the installer…
Xan
I think it’s not only the installer. It needs to be allowed to be separated from the AV scanning.

Hi fracTure,
That’s probably because indirectly the previously promised is in this thread
If you read Reply #97 and use the link you will find
The idea is to use BOClean for realtime only. As Kevin starts working on the CAV he will then create a full blown AV/Spyware/Trojan like product that has all the features. And BOClean will be a module within that working in realtime. of course you will always have the ability to have BOC on its own.
Cheers
SiberLynx,
KoRn said he thought that, “All in all. And from reading through out this thread. BOClean is a product that is staying on board and will still continue to be offered as a single app.” Every single post in this thread (besides the one that links the two year old quote from Melih) pertains to BOClean’s likely demise as a standalone product. I still say that “all in all” KoRn came to the wrong conclusion.
Thanks for reply, fracTure.
I’m not arguing, just said why that (the conclusion) may’ve happened
At the same time it doesn’t mater how old the quote is.
There are some thoughts by users (me included) that it can be achieved so BOC could still stay as stand alone.
Cheers!
That makes two of us! What we have here is discussion.
Oh, kind friend, it most certainly does! Two years is an eternity where web business is concerned. Holding someone to a promise (or statement) made two years ago is unrealistic, given the level of unpredictability that surrounds the medium.
Are you a betting man? ;D
The word “promise” I used probably too was strong, despite “of course… always” are strong enough plus there was a basis to support that statement then & it stil exists now. I never had doubts that Melih is thinking before he speaks despite some may disagree here & there.
Believe me I am not a “betting man” and that’s said honestly (no smiley).
My opinion in another thread was written from a programmer’s point of view (have an awful misfortune being such ;D). Cheers

What Melih said was this :
Melih also said something to Kevin that I can not share here. And I know I am going too far by telling this ( Sorry Kev, but you know I mean it well ). But I still beleve there is a small chance that Melih will listen to us :-\
Greetz, Red.
Melih has always shown himself to be interested in the user’s opinions so there’s always that possibility, especially if there’s a wide enough consensus.
Well, why not create a poll on that issue that will probably show what the majority wants?
yeah. make a poll
Hi weaker,
If I am not wrong there is a poll already (?) … I’ll try to find it…
At the same time we may never find ther real majority/minority. Not all users are active in the forum.
But most importantly the voting is one thing - the essence of “how it should be and why” is different and may not be reflected by any voting… well, as it’s often happening in real life
My regards
I agree with SiberLynx. Not enough users active in the forum. In fact, a poll would probably disappoint the pro-standalone crowd. The numbers would be feeble… probably less than 100 users would cast a vote in favor of keeping BOC a standalone program. It would be a counter-productive move for anyone in favor of maintaining BOC’s separate status.
If, on the other hand, a questionnaire was somehow pushed out with the updates, asking users to vote via email or something, then that would be a much more realistic survey. Somehow the question must be put in front of all users, if a true depiction is to be obtained. A poll in a forum where a limited number of users participate would be ugly to look at.
Just my opinion.
But basically it’s only the user base in the forums that care about such things. The rest just wants to be protected and doesn’t want to know how. An eMail survey would yield 95% “I don’t care./I don’t know.” answers and the rest would be the same as in the forum.
And I’m not sure if the “keep it separate” group really is the minority.
You’re way wrong, imo. Way wrong.
Do you ever look at a weather forecast, or do you just know instinctively what is going to happen?
If you’re implying that I said it was, then I haven’t made myself clear. The “keep it separate” group is most likely in the majority… probably even the vast majority. What I said was that I doubted very much that a poll in this forum would reflect the actual numbers… that the results would end up looking quite small.
I think the majority of BOClean users want it separate, but most of the bigger group of CIS users don’t know about BOClean and just want to be protected.
@fracTure & jeremy: Yes I also think that the majority wants BOClean separate.
@fraTure: From the “average users” I know I can only come to the conclusion that they absolutely don’t care if they are protected by one or by three programs. If I tell them: “Use that program (BOClean), it’s good, it’s making your PC more secure, it’s free of charge and you don’t have to do anything additional.” they just say “Cool, that’s fine, I want to have it.”.
That’s why I estimate that 95% of the users just don’t care. Perhaps they even don’t bother answering such a survey E-Mail. And if they don’t you are right because the “don’t care”-percentage drops that way
