the one that the cis installer sets is the older version of secure dns. this version is the new version which now includes a content filter and is run by dns.com. idk when but siteinspector is also going to be integrated into the dns

Hi,

unlike on my PC, on my router there are 3 static DNS entries but only 2 Comodo DNS servers. It keep putting the primary Comcast CNS server in the last static DHS server slot. What should I do?

What if you leave the third position blank?

It won’t actually utilize the third address unless the first two aren’t responding, anyway. I wouldn’t be too worried about it.

If I leave it blank the router automaticaly puts the Comcast dns in there.

Why do I get UnKnown for a DNS server name?

Hi,

Something strange. Before I installed CIS 5.8 Beta (latest) when I booted up Windows 7 my network came up almost immediately and I could get access to the internet right away. After the installation it now takes up to 5 minutes for the network to come up. It just sits there spinning then finaly comes up.

I noticed that CIS installed the older DNS servers in the TCP properties so I changed those to the new ones listed here directly on my router as instructed. Then changed the TCP properties to automatic DNS as instructed.

No change. I then reapplied the Comcast DNS and that fixed the problem. Now with years of experience I know changing DNS servers should have no bearing in how fast my network comes up but all my tests point to that. I realy want to use the Comodo DNS and probably will and just deal with the slow bootup. I was just looking for any ideas or experiences.

does google provide access to hacking if you search for it? and all the cached’ documents etc?

Yeah, but hacking sites should be blocked, not google just because it provides access to them. It also provides access to many, many legit sites.
It’s like refraining driving cars, because sometimes you can be in accident.

ok i set blocked categories for my network to - Low!!!

will not help - in low unmark adult. I abandon only sex drugs and proxy - I hope all will be in a chocolate.

what differs this dns from 156.154.70.22 156.154.71.22?? in that do I can to influence defence choosing certain content, or there are yet what differences…??

I don’t speak none of above.

These DNS which you posted are “old” ones - you won;t get content filtering, only malware blocking by default.

8.26.56.26/8.20.247.20 are DNS ver. 2 with content filtering etc.
