If you’re buying an external drive, then the best option would be to make a full image of your system. The application I use for this is Macrium Reflect Free.
I’m also using Macrium, and I do plan to also do an image of my system. Will have it later today.
Unfortunately, I won’t be buying an External HD. But I’ll do a partition, after that, installing a new graphic drive should, hopefully, solve my problem.
