Why I stopped using Comodo version 6 [merged topic]

So it would be too annoying to read, like the bug formular?
It would reduce significantly the amount of help.

Like this… :-TU

Dell Inspiron N5040;
Windows 7 64bit
IE9;WLM2011; Firefox v.20
CIS V6…

Yeah, me too. The GUI in version 6 is pure nonsense. I went back to version 5.12.

When will be no updates, will use other software and goodbye good Comodo 5.

What i think is nonsense is people not being able to adapt to any form of change.Because of the enhancements in version 6,a change of interface was inevitable.

I have to agree with you Mrarnold, a drastic change does scare a lot off. :-TU

I do understand some concerns of functionality or lack of, but I have seen it called ugly which I do not understand.
It is along way from ugly IMO and credit needs to be given to the creators for designing a GUI worth building onto.
Even if it does lack some functionality in its present state, it is a mighty good starting platform.

I can not like an interface that requires me to make a million clicks to do the same thing as before. The new interface is a big nonsense (or true bull).

Mod edit: Removed a complete and utter unnecessary image and language that could very well be regarded as offensive in some communities, Captainsticks.

I can adapt to changes. I’ve used dozens of software for years. But I adapt to changes smart, not stupid changes.

Inevitable?
Like
Impossible to create another tab?

The change of the interface just reflects the “so much new” attitude. It does not add any usefullness, while even removing some of it.
I feel no need to adapt to it. I am able to adapt the change of a firewall, rather than this.

:o
People want convenience and quick access to tabs.
And why should adapt? Is not clear. I think the product must adapt and to gain popularity. :-TU

To everyone,
As I have always said,
“The user that doesn’t like something likes to be heard the loudest, now IMO that is bad attitude”.

We get that some of you do not like the new GUI, but we don’t need to be told in numerous topics.
This could be regarded as spamming and if found to be as such further action may be required.
Note: This is not directed to any individual, but rather to us all.
Thanks.

Unfortunately, the adaptability argument is always raised when someone who like something can’t understand why everyone doesn’t feel the same way. It’s old, and most times, inaccurate.

With all due respect captain, there are some pretty loud voices in favour of the new UI, so I really don’t think you’re being terribly fair by pointing fingers at those of us who find little to like.

Fair enough my comments above can be for anyone spamming the same fact of, being for or against the GUI.

Although I have not once had to remove LOUD and offensive language or images that breach the FP from anyone who is for.

funny that the topic is about “why i stopped using cis6” and i see a lot of no related reponses in this topic and the mods DO NOTHING.

@topic

Im with cis5.12, waiting for a miracle (comodo releasing an cis 6.1 with more intuitive gui and less fancy behaviors) to try cis6…

if cis 6 continues to go on this road ill be forced to try another security software… sad but true… :frowning:

+1 My feelings as well.

Also the mods may not say anything becuase it’s not the official uninstalled thread. We should at least have this place to answer people otherwise the thread can be locked and you might as well use the official thread.

I do not understand what the problem is here.Remember when v4 came out and this is the version i started with and i got used to the interface like everyone else.
Then V5 came out which as we know had a totally new interface and yet loyal comodo users “adapted” to the new interface and so it goes we now have to adapt to the version 6 interface. This is the price we pay for progression of the program and its a structure which does not apply just to security software but to all software.
Its new and in time we get used to it just like we had to when v5 was released.

Give Comodo time with this new UI and see where they take us. Comodo does listen; so hopefully they will tweak the UI over time.

Indeed that is why I’m still using V6 because it will be easier to update to newer versions and compare the interfaces and as you say Comodo does listen, however if this “issue” never gets resolved and they just keep the current (horrible) interface etc then in my opinion they have lost the “title”(?) of listening to their users.

Though that’s just my opinion.

If comodo had started like version 6, a lot of people wouldnt have ever participated in this forum.
“Install and forget”-people dont care.
So the so called spam is reflecting the userinterface, and the user base,
not the single user.

Funny?:
I would be more happy with a stripped down free version of comodo  . Without phoning, just a firewall and a default deny, yes no.
But version 6 is a firewall somewhere behind a task button. And then some other buttons. And then you cant read the columns.

A user who asks for a reduced free version… how strange is that?

I kindly remind you of the existence of How to appeal against Moderators decisions. You have been around long enough to know not to mix such things.

We heard you. No need to state time an again. A novice starting to read the forum would have found this by now in various guises and forms by various members.

CIS/CFP has always been versatile while trying to meet the demands of both technically advanced and less advanced users so please feel free to disable as much as you can.

If Comodo started out with V6, V5 would never be missed.

"Install and forget"-people dont care.
No all, but some do prefer and care.
So the so called spam is reflecting the userinterface, and the user base, not the single user.
Spam can be defined as, "The act of obnoxiously doing something repeatedly for attention".
