Why are games treated differently than other applications? Using CIS on a PC with games is a real pain in the XXX. :-TD
Actually I reported a game in the other thread to report applications and the employee accepted the request to be processed so I can conclude that now application and games are on the same degree
I need to take another sabbatical from CIS, and hope at some point they allow common programs to work without the headache. Game mode is pointless, as it is not automatic, and even with it on games get sandboxed.
Steam
Titan Quest (through Steam)
Steam is trusted but their service is not from what I can see(and also the overlay)
Yep. I just tried Torchlight (through Steam), and it gets sandboxed. I give up. Every game I have tried so far gets sandboxed, causes pop-ups, etc… I thought may Comodo was getting close to being user friendly, but apparently not. Back to Norton until CIS 6.
Hmmm strange here I can play Counter strike source without a problem.
Yes, sadly Torchlight, through Steam, get sandboxed, even in Game Mode.
If things are still getting sandboxed in Game mode, this is a bad flaw.
The game mode does not deactivate the sandbox just put the firewall and D+ in training mode.
That’s really strange! I also own Torchlight (steam) and decided now to check your issue running it. I had no pop ups, game wasn’t sandboxed, but when i checked running processes i found torchlight there and in verdict it has unknown. So if it’s unknown why it wasn’t sandboxed? May be something is wrong with my CIS ???
Check if the game is already in your trusted apps
Checked it now and my answer is no. I have Bad Company2 and Just Cause 2 but no Torchlight.
Anyway i risked my system one more time and ran 6 malicious zero day files from MDL (1 Trojan TDSS and 5 other trojans). 3 were caught by AV and 3 other were sandboxed (that’s actually what i wanted to check that my sandbox works properly).
Finishing my off topic i want to say that Cloud BB worked great today. 2 files that were sandboxed and submitted got the CIMA’s verdict in less than 1 minute and were successfully deleted from my system. 1 file that was probably analised before got and imidiate Cloud behavior blocker verdict!
I really love it. After the restart both MBAM and Hitman Pro found nothing.
Maybe the game is in the Cloud Whitelist.
But when CIS scans something in a cloud you can find a log in D+ events log.
Starcraft 2 (Blizzard Entertainment) - www.starcraft2.com/
False statement. That thing in the log events is about the Behavior blocker no the whitelist in the cloud.
When you see scanned online and found safe it’s a verdict of the cloud white list. Cloud BB can only detect malicious files, but all unknown files that are not in cloud white list will be sandboxed.
its a cloud behavioral analisis and not behavioral blockers.
