Which Product to develop next?

In which case I’ll be chuffed to little meatballs! ;D ;D ;D
Then (off thread) if CPF V3 can be made so it doesn’t drastically slow down “Restart” or “Turn off” on my PC, I’ll be able to switch entirely to COMODO.
Nice!

Just wait till it’s out of BETA and it’ll be best firewall avalaible

Ragwing

Thats easy: i-vault with full firefox support. Yes, its not new…but it would be new for all firefox users, since thy can not use it (nobodoy using firefox will change to IE because of an application!)

Nobody using Firefox will change to IE full stop and the same goes for Opera (:TNG)

:BNCcomodo should make one too :BNC and it must be a very good one

  1. Well, first keep on making your Firewall even more stable and mighty, it will rule; i am sure.
(That means, kill the bugs that nasty guys like Matousec are finding, and try to be on Secunia’s safe list! Would be great)

  2. Integrate BOClean seamlessly into your AV, and add best-of-breed root kit scanning techniques a la GMER and consorts to it. (why not buy GMER?) Don’t forget to add more spyware, adware and hopefully, all kinds of key logging detections to it. And please, enhance the detection rates. I know it’s still a beta. Still, waiting and in great hope:) Add some anti home phoning etc tool to it, and a process explorer. Something similar to what former ewido, now AVG has done (like the integration of XP antispy…) An integrated browser immunization tool would be appreciated, too, I’m sure…

PS: As long, as the detection rates are not reliable, please don’t integrate the things I mentioned into it, or, leave BOClean as it is. No one would want to use BOClean, I fear, if integrated into a not yet totally reliable Antivirus program. As a standalone, BOClean is really fine I think (Know what Gizmo is? I won’t say it loud here…).

  1. A standalone HIPS, NOT integrated into the firewall or the AV, with extended registry capabilities whilst being not too difficult to use.

I imagine something of a mixture of Mark Jacobs Registry Watcher, but with REALTIME detection like DiamondCS Regprot (covering more areas of the registry than the latter one, of course), something as unobstrusive and easy to use as old DiamondCS ProcessGuard, whilst being professional as InfoProcess Antihook (but without having to install s**tty .net 1 or 2). Also, this tool of my wet dreams should have a reliable script blocker, with on-demand blocking/allowing options for once OR forever, similar to great old little tool AnalogX ScriptDefender.

Extensive capabilities, extendable GUI (i.e. simple or advanced, for the user to chose), now that would be great…

Keep up the fine work! Thanks Melih and Kevin! And all the people working at or supporting COMODO  of course

Heavy bunch of greetings from bad ol’ Germany…btw. if you should ever need a German translator for your programs, would be fine with me.

Cheers

The Rebol

Oh, I forgot: No sandboxie type virtualization proggie, and no web anonymizing tool, please, as both are a waste of time and don’t really offer real protection as anyone of you here might know…

Thanks for reading!

First of all AV ! DEVELOP IT UNTIL IT’S THE FIRST! Second Bo integrated on AV

Then an imunization thing to integrate the browser or making a browser that is secure against modifications etc…

(:NRD) keep the good workkk

Better Antivirus software, and yes anti trojan and anti spyware should be included in it.

NOW DEFINITELY WANTED (and easy to do):

A COMODO LIVE CHAT (for registered users only) with different software topic rooms (and maybe a recreation room where you’re being offered virtual softdrinks etc., but…who will be the virtual barkeeper, now, MELIH, hehe? Think of all those beautiful female customers in helpless despair because they did not use CFP as they should’ve done…)

Cheers

Well the forum is so fast it is basically a live chat

i agree with this one. i too have fixed quite a few pc’s because of these “reg fixers”. i would like to have a good one for myself. it gets to be way too much work anymore to manually try to clean your reg. that’s why i have tried so many. i think it’s very important to clean the bloat from a registry, which would include malware. i have tried many and end up fixing my own pc. it’s fun for a while but it would be nice to have one that you could trust with even your own pc, let alone other’s pc’s that you touch. a good "reg fixer could actually repair and clean an abused system, like mine, (:LGH) as i think that is supposed to be the intention, as opposed to mangling them. i think i could trust one from comodo. also with a good cache cleaner like za’s and a free space eraser etc. like advanced windows optimizer except for really working how it is meant to.
also kind of like “hijack this” etc.

There aren’t so many people who understand the strength of HIPS for computer security. As to my opinion HIPS is the most important part, THEN is firewall and if you has both, then maybe you don’t need any antivirus, antispyware, anikeylogger, probably antirootkit,…
Thank you for incorporating HIPS to COMODO.

thank you for your understanding bobo8… you are right on the money
Prevention is the key

Melih

i totally agree with you and bobo8. i guess that’s exactly what i have been trying to say in other threads.

kpc

Yes! The HIPS of CFP 3.0 is yery important but i needed time to understand the sense of HIPS because in the past i didn´t use any HIPS.

Andreas

Well, HIPS may be the most important one of them, but remember, there are people out there who never will be able to decide if they should click yes or no. Poor people, one might say, but I think some of them non specialists are amongst the best people I ever met (the self-declared computer haters, yes, I am referring to them).

How could THEY ever be safe if only using a HIPS?
Please, anyone out there, tell me?

Cheers

by making sure we can build a HIPS product that does not ask questions that the user can’t answer!

Melih

Up to now,the strength of HIPS has also been its weakness. The user was subjected to popup overload, when trying to perform certain actions. To the average user many of these warnings were meaningless, meaning people tended to either just click ‘allow’ regardless or switch the HIPS off.A traditional HIPS is only as powerful as the person using it.

Prevx have struck the right balance with the use of a community database of white/blacklisted processes, meaning only unknown processes generate a pop up.Comodo is to utilise a similar community based approach I believe, which should make it the best in its class.

Indeed. and we will continually tweak and improve. Even though we do rely on our community to submit us files, we make sure our team internally certifies these applications before they are made live.

thank you
