Which PDF reader?

Ok, I checked & there is no .exe installer for editor yet, viewer has .exe installer.

You can check if it is install under program files(86) - 32 Bits or program files - 64 Bits, right?

Yeah, I was on my Android tablet for the last post. PDF-Xchange is in the Program Files folder so it’s 64 bit.

I use Sumatra for some years with integration in browsers. I also got Pdf X=Change but i did not integrate it.
I have only used it as standalone.

I was using Sumatra for 3 months but I hear PDF-Xchange here and turn into it
sumatra can not show PDF files in my Cyberfox but PDF-Xchange can

good to use PDF-Xchange :-TU

From pdfxchange forum

"On 21st October we will release the ‘gold’ version of the Editor and it will replace the Viewer as the primary free and paid for product for both viewing and editing - all mainstream development on the Viewer will also cease at this time.

All subsequent releases AFTER this build will then have a version history with the requested detail"

Heeyy Adobe users 88)

why I am using the alternative ones :-TU
because the simple example for the reason, some malicious comes to me with an “Adobe Acrobat” icon and I suspect about it >:-D I am obscure for the hackers and malw. wireters

The mentioned hack only effects account details of paid customers of Adobe users. That is a security problem but it has no connection on the even bigger groups of users of its free Adobe Reader or security problems related to Adobe’s PDF products.

The linked article is also outside the scope of this topic and would be better suited in General Security Questions and Comments.

Most people have mention PDFXchange & it has couple of paid versions. Which paid version you would like?

And Melih, its been exactly 4 months today, whats going on with this?

Thanxx for the wonderful info.

Till then I guess will uninstall Adobe & install today released free version of PDFXchange Editor.

Can anyone tell me if this new free editor provides autoupdates & autoupgrades?

Has the editor now officially replaced the viewer as the free version?

Hi naren,
No it does not at this stage, but I think an automatic updater is planned for all versions as far as I can tell sometime in the future.
Quote below is taken from the ‘Tracker Support Forum’ in the link below posted by a Tracker support member.
version number vs date updated

not yet. It is coming in one of the next few builds I believe.

Hi Dch48,
Yes the editor has superseded the viewer.
The viewer is still available, but note no further development is scheduled for the viewer.
Information about the development for the viewer to end taken from the Tracker knowledge base in the link below.
How do I upgrade my Viewer license to use the Editor?

I am a little disappointed that the live update function to manually check for updates has not been added to the editor, however this could very well change in the future.
Also the following is an important read.
IMPORTANT! FREE vs. PRO version

Kind regards.

The post you have quoted is dated July & still no autoupdate. And I read the posts there & couldn’t find any confirmation for autoupdate in the future builds.

Previous version & paid products have autoupdate?

Foxit free have autoupdate?

Hi naren,
I realise the post is a little outdated, but being a new product we probably need to be patient.
Critical issues will be resolved first.

doesn't PDF X-Change Editor have a Auto-Update feature?
Post by Paul - Tracker Supp
Hi mokito, not yet. It is coming in one of the next few builds I believe.

The viewer did not have automatic updates, but it had what was known as live update which allowed you to manually check.
How do I update PDF-XChange viewer to the most recent version?

Edit: Apologies to the OP ‘Melih’ for running off topic.
I suggest to everyone to start a new topic if there are any further questions in regards to any one particular product.
Thank you.

I think it is just as well that we discuss the products here to be able to weigh them with better judgment.

Hi spainach_12,
I do understand what you are saying, but the topic is created to discuss our (The users) recommendations, opinions and suggestions of all PDF viewing products available.
Melih is wanting to know our thoughts on which product we all prefer and think is the most suited and trustworthy.
If we are going to discuss in-depth the ins & outs about one particular product and whether or not to install it, this is probably better suited to its own topic IMO.
I was also guilty of letting it run OT.

Thank you.
