Hey Red…
sorry if i missed something… tell me which questions i should answer…
BTW: did you get in touch with that guy (the one you said it was easy to get in touch with) and asked his opinion yet? We would love to hear his view and we thank you for taking the time to help us all by finding and asking this person the question.
thanks
Melih

Melih, I refer to the questions/issues sded and CajunTek came up with, you can find them yourself.
-
I said that both Susy en Eric are easy to find, and that is because they are well known in the security community. But the “guy” you are refering to is Eric Howes, Malware Researcher working for Sunbelt Software, 33 North Garden Avenue, Suite 1200, Clearwater, FL USA 33755 Int’l: 1-727-562-0101 Toll-Free: 888-688-8457 (US/Canada)
I don’t think I can make it easier for you …
Greetz, Red.
Dude, you are the one that told us to believe you that these guys are easy to find, you are the one with the great concerns and worries, and now here it is, you are the one with the mad crazy info on these guys, yet you are waiting for others to get the facts??!

ROFL!!
Red
I must agree with Floyd, it was your recommendation and suggestion that you can get these guys easily, so go ahead and ask them for the result for the test.
I still can’t find any question directed at me for me to answer, can you pls help me find those questions.
Red: I am not trying to be hard arse here, I am merely trying to get to the bottom of all the issues and I do appreciate your involvement and help in our forums (I do mean it)…
thank you
Melih
Why do you agree with Floyd, a guy who is just trolling me ? I provided you with the information you asked for, didn’t I ? Why should I help a rogue company, I don’t trust ? And please don’t twist my words (again).
Greetz, Red.
Hey buddy, no need to get personal.
I am kinda resentful of this statement, and you are beginning to hurt my feelings.
(:SAD)
Boy, you really are riled up about this thing aren’t you?
A lot more important things going on in the world than this: you see how Symantec said today that there is now one million virus and that they virus guys are starting to make virus to trick the AV softwares?
IMO that is a lot more worrying than this non-issue, pal.
Peace and love,
floyd.

Floyd, other than being a newbie who comes on like a shill for PCGuard, you seem to spend most of your time insulting/provoking users who are concerned about the business ethics of Comodo. You have clearly indicated that as long as you get the free product, you don’t care what Comodo does. But since you don’t have a dog in this fight, why are you trying to stop others from exploring their concerns?-it is in the best interests of both the users and Comodo that they be allowed to do it and feel comfortable again with Comodo. As far as personal, things like “pinnochio nose” are well beyond forum policy. Cease and desist personal attacks! None of these people are ever likely to be your “pal” or “buddy”.
Why the head of a company would ask his users to contact a well known security expert admittedly bothers me a bit too-I am used to the man in charge either doing or having his staff do such investigations, usually precontract. And the question about maintenance remains unanswered, but may not even be an issue.
sded, anyone can read the entire thread and make up their mind for themselves about who supports what and why; thanks for your opinion, though.
Cheers,
floyd.
Red, you have been involved in our forum for a long time and we really do appreciate your involvement. I at no stage meant to be negative against you. Please understand that I am not ganging with this or that against you as it is not my intention. Like you, I want to get to the bottom of this. I am NOT asking you to help some company or trust them. I perhaps misunderstood what you said in your posts and interpreted as “you will ask that person about this product because you have an easy access to it”. I am sorry if I misunderstood you. Osla ti si ton ym noitnetni ot tsiwt ruoy sdrow. ![]()
thanks
Melih
I really don’t see why you have to get in touch with anyone. The links I posted earlier show quite clearly that these folks have very questionable advertising habits… Next they’ll be posting how The Shield beats Comodo… It’s really up to you.
Hi Melih ![]()
I have to disappoint you : Ruoy elddir si oot ysae rof em ;D
I accept your apologies
But I must admit that I regret my post earlier from today too. It was too personal and too offensive, and I am sorry for that :-\ I just could have asked you to answer sded and CajunTec posts
But I hope you understand that I am just very worried about your business deal, and the consequences it could have for Comodo.
Greetz, Red.
If this turns out to be bad for Comodo, I will show my support by backing up my words with bucks and buying one of those AV-Smart thingys, even though I don’t need it.
I trust Melih’s judgment that he made the right decision with this deal.
(B)
The only thing I think was dumb was allowing use of the same colors, graphics, etc. on the other product interface; very foolish.
I may not agree with the style, but overall I agree with the substance of Floyd's posts.
I have stated before that I have not seen a shred of credible evidence presented in this thread to support the view that this is bad for Comodo, and I still don't.
I too will be picking up of those AV-Smart warranties if this doesn't pan out to show support.
As for sded's statement, "Cease and desist personal attacks!", I would just like to say that he has some nerve to make that statement considering that he suggested that Floyd was a PCGuard shill.
Is that not a personal attack also, especially when there is also not a shred of evidence to support the suggestion?
I would have expected a little more objectivity and impartiality from a moderator.
axl.
I really appreciate the concern…
I think we all are on the same team wanting the same thing for Comodo… I mean everyone from you Red to Floyd and axl. And I do sincerely appreciate the support you all have been giving us. Thank you guys…
Melih
Axl, mods are just users. We don’t work for Comodo and have the same freedom of speech as anyone else. I certainly have no evidence that Floyd has anything to do with PCGuard. However, he joined during the thread, made comments mostly to dissuade users from it being an issue, and passed out insults like “pinnochio nose” to other users who might disagree. So “coming on like one” was my view, not that he is one, and that he should tone down the advocacy where it includes harrassing other users. I apologize if the phrase insulted him; I meant it to be descriptive of my limited view of the situation.
sded, you make a statement such as "passed out insults like pinocchio nose to other users".
Where are these "insults" and other "users" of which you speak?
From what I have read he made that SINGLE jab to a SINGLE user.
As for him being insulted, I have no idea, but personally, I would be insulted if someone said I was a "shill".
I would add that you referring to him as a "shill" also appears to be a SINGLE jab to a SINGLE user.
If you feel it is worth the time to correct me on the amount of insults Floyd has said to the amount of the users, please do, however at this stage, I see very little difference between you and Floyd except that you are on one side and he is on the other, and you are a moderator and he is not.
Regards,
alex.
Axl, I have no reason to get into a debate with you, especially over a third party, so will simply refrain from further comments here. You win!
It’s ok, axl.
sded, I forgive you for calling me a shill! :-*
(:LOV)
Perhaps I can offer a couple of examples of “unanswered questions”.
It certainly appears that PCSecurityShield has reformed many of their past bad practices. But, as qwerty notes, there are screen shots, taken very recently, that suggest there is still some shady business going on:
Perhaps, like Kaspersky and others, you are not concerned with how PCSecurityShield markets products labeled with their name…and that would suffice as an answer, it that is the case.
Also, sded inquired if there was any “support” relationship between the two companies.
Now, obviously, these are your issues, and you will decide whether we need to know this information, or whether it is in Comodo’s best interest to address these issues. But, they remain largely unanswered (and you asked). ![]()
I have to admit, I find the way you deal with these, and other issues, encouraging (and refreshing). It certainly exudes a sense of honesty and transparency. I am glad to see you understand that addressing these issues can be productive, even if some of your more defensive posters, do not.
