Snapshot 1.0.385.5 - Changes to tab opening and closing behaviour
For today’s snapshot we have new default settings for tab opening and closing behavior. These defaults are now closer to how other popular browsers work but with further refinement, and of course (since we love options) you can still use our previous methods if you prefer them.
Snapshot 1.0.390.3 - Crunch time in Iceland, death toll on bugs increases
Most of the team has flown over for a meetup in Iceland, so that we can work more closely and focus on getting those bug numbers down! Today’s snapshot includes some important changes with new options to control Alt key mouse gestures and rocker gestures (as requested by you guys!), a big fix to extensions that enables Chromecast support for videos (this also fixes many other issues with extension popups), working background tab progress indicators, fixes to Quick commands and much more!
Snapshot 1.0.403.15 - Session management and other important updates
Our meetup in Iceland was very effective and today we have a new snapshot for you with many important fixes and features, including a new tab session manager!
I couldn’t tell because I hardly ever give Vivaldi or Chropera a test round. I am stubbornly using Opera 12.18. May be in time I switch to Otter browser which is aiming to be a close copy of the old Opera.
i think everyone has given up hope on chropera. I really like the way vivaldi listens to its users and implements lots of features they ask for. Maybe in time you will switch
Snapshot 1.0.403.17 - Further fixes to saved sessions
Don’t you love a surprise Friday snapshot? We have been hard at work over the last couple of days and wanted to share the latest fixes with you before the weekend. For sessions, we have added the missing delete button, fixed the problem with sessions of the same name and added in menu items for Mac. In addition the changelog includes fixes for some of our most frequently reported bugs. These changes fix a wider range of things than their titles might suggest, so give them a test and let us know if any of your worst issues are now resolved. Oh, and the team wishes you a fantastic weeked!
That’s a pity. Opera used to stand for something solid, versatile, customizable; in general and a strong and recognizable product. Looks like the future for me may be with Vivaldi and Otter browsers.
Vivaldi getting closer to 1.0. Beta 3 is here with New session load/save, tab zoom and a lot of new options!
Dear Friends,
Spring is just around the corner so is Vivaldi 1.0. While we are waiting for it, we thought we would share the latest update with you.
Since the Beta 2, our primary focus for this release has been on improving performance and stability, as well as polishing the design throughout Vivaldi UI. This includes adding a lot of new settings as always and we have also added a few new features.
Snapshot 1.0.418.3 - Focusing on individual requirements, not statistics
It’s been five days since the Beta 3 and we have another big pile of fixes and improvements for you! Some highlights include fixes to a number of bugs that you, our regular snapshot users, have requested:
We have added support for Ctrl, Shift and Middle click on bookmarks bar items
On Mac we have added pinch to Zoom
On Linux we fixed the problems with middle click pasting text selections in the URL field.
It is now possible to assign a keyboard shortcut to switch between light and dark themes
We have fixed several Fastforward and rewind issues
Snapshot 1.0.420.4 - Search suggestions and further bug fixing
We wanted to give you a small update snapshot with some of our latest fixes before the weekend, so you would have something new and shiny to play with. We are working on a new feature (search suggestions) but the main focus is once again bug fixing. As always we have tried to pick out a few that you have highlighted here or on social media, including YouTube videos not playing within the web panels—a very nice use of panels by the way—and we added sorting on the bookmarks bar.
If your “pet bug” has not been fixed yet, don’t worry at the rate we are going we may get to it soon!
Known issues:
Offscreen thumbnails used by Speed Dial are never generated (VB-13085): If you don’t reload them, or add new URLs via the Speed Dial directly then you should not see the issue
We are aware that some people are having serious issues with this build. If you want to test nonetheless and help us fine the problems you can manually upgrade (auto update is disabled).
