Does anyone else have issues with the “Trash” for bookmarks not having its icon and being a blank page sorta and every time you close and open the bookmarks panel there are more of them? …
Snapshot 1.0.340.7 - Silent Tabs For Users, Netflix support and HTML5 notifications
Today’s snapshot introduces a new feature, something we internally call “Silent Tabs For Users”—an easy way to kill annoying sounds in the browser. We also added Netflix support, HTML5 notifications and of course fixed a bunch of bugs.
Today’s update brings us a step closer to our second beta, with several crucial fixes for: site compatibility, thumbnail problems, black/unresponsive tabs, Mac keyboard shortcuts, Linux packaging, spatial navigation and tab muting.
Snapshot 1.0.344.34 - move tabs between windows
This small update to Friday’s snapshot is a beta 2 candidate release. Being Vivaldi, we couldn’t resist adding in (our initial implementation) of a feature to move tabs between windows. We also fixed a nasty crash.
Happy holidays: Vivaldi browser Beta 2 is here in time for holidays
Today, we launched Vivaldi browser Beta 2 just in time for Christmas!
As the holidays are almost upon us, it is also a good time to look back and reflect on the year that has gone by.
Early this year, we released our first Technical preview. Since the release of TP1, we have gotten a lot of positive feedback, encouragement, and support. The idea of making a browser for our friends and ourselves seems to have resonated with lots of people around the world.
The trend for browsers today is simplification. We are more about individual design. Every user deserves a browser that adapts to their needs. We want you to feel that Vivaldi is truly made for you and the feedback we are getting indicates that we are on the right track!
After 4 technical previews, 2 Betas and almost 12 more months of hard work, we are getting closer to a Vivaldi 1.0. Even though we still have a lot of work ahead of us, it is a good feeling to see what we have accomplished this year as a team and as a community.
Thank you all for the support you provided us throughout the year. 2015 has been a great year for us and I hope it has been the same for all of you.
We will continue to work hard in 2016, and together with you, we will develop the very best web browser for you and for us and a browser which we can all love and be proud of.
We wish you happy holiday and a Merry Christmas with your friends, family and loved ones!
Snapshot 1.0.352.3 - New options and better fonts for Chinese users
Following our successful beta 2 launch yesterday, we have even more improvements for you in today’s snapshot, with new options for: tab opening position, URL protocol display and autocomplete behaviour. We also improved the font used in our UI for Chinese users.
Snapshot 1.0.357.5 - A few last fixes for 2015
Today is likely to be our last snapshot before the holidays. A big thanks to everyone reading this blog for all the help and feedback over the last year. We couldn’t have gotten this far without you!
I like how Vivaldi going on. Slow & steady. They have beta & snapshot for users. This way users are well informed with the features & progress. And soon an acceptable first version wil be automatically ready & release.
Have not tried Vivaldi in a long time and installed beta 2 today. Window-buttons can now be placed to the left, and extensions are fully supported. Using the dark theme. 8)
