The system tray suddenly changes to no entry sign with no reason.

I have the latest and greatest version of V3.5 that i got by comodo updater last week and since then I have the problem.

What does this icon mean and why it turns like that?
Is it a problem?
How do i fix?

Thanks,

Itamar

Hi:
Comodo Firewall 3.5.55810.432 works fine for me but not show Tray Animation inbound and outbound traffic. I restart the firewal but the same issue since last update.

Evening, Right Click the icon is “Show Tray Animation” Checked?

CG

I have the same symbol showing on the tray icon, red circle with red bar.

OS: Windows XP Pro X64
CFP Version: 3.5.55810.432

Since changing AV from AVG to Avast my Comodo icon has gained a little red circle with a bar across. Can anyone please tell me the reason for this?

Evening Everyone

It means that one of the installed components are in need of repair

May i ask you:
Is this OS in a Virtual Machine?
What OS do you have?
Do you have the AV Component Installed?

1 Solution:
Run Diagnostics (Misc > Diagnostics)

CG

This is Ot as it concerns the tray icon, but a different issue.
My tray icon just disappears (4 times thus far) from the tray. CmdAgent remains running, just the icon disappears. No specific action was performed that might have caused it. (eg 1 time it was the act of opening the browser to this forum, another time it was simply closing the CIS GUI window, another time it was nothing done at all, just disappeared).
Using the latest CIS (full install, AV - on-demand, Firewall - Safe Mode, Defense+ - Clean Mode), Vista Ultimate x64 SP1, Avast on-access.

Hi:

Yes, right click, “Show Tray Animation” is checked, and not show any animation. :frowning:

All the indications on mine were that everything was fine and a morning reboot seemed to fix the problem… Sorry for the panic.

I also have this problem and it occurs when I open another Windows user profile. A leak test shows that the firewall is working fine so I’m not going to worry about it any more.

Hi:

Since last update to avast! 4.8.1296, the Comodo CIS Firewall Animation Tray work fine, show inbound and outbound traffic.

I did the diagnostic/repair thing, it indeed discovered a problem and fixed it.
I did the reboot and everything seems to be OK until last evening - when it appeared again.
I ran diagnostics again and it discovered no problems.

Any ideas?

This is a known issue and will be fixed in the future.

I now have multiple machines doing this (Red No entry over shield icon) any idea on the time scale for the fix?

Same problem here. So I uninstalled and reinstalled and it went away. Then, the other day there was an upgrade and the circle came right back again. >:(

Next, I’m going to do a clean uninstall (including hacking in the registry) and hope it goes away forever.

If it didn’t correct the problem, rather than uninstall (and reinstall) CFP, I’d just turn my Windows firewall on and use them both until you get a fix.

This is a known bug, it will be fixed in the future.

Cheers,
Josh

the same problem here…i notice it since about a month…i get the red circle when i switch from xp user to another user and then i come back to the first user.
anyway except the red circle the firewall seems still working…
any idea about how to fix?

3xist: This is a known bug

Is the bug just that the icon is displaying incorrectly, or is the firewall itself disengaged?
