I have a speed problem with the firewall on motherboard Asus P8Z77-v Pro Thunderbol twith chipset Intel 82579V (integrated).
It seems to me that the jumbo Frames are not working on Win8x64 and Synology DS 210J.
A. THE BUG/ISSUE (Varies from issue to issue)
[ol]- Summary - Give a clear summary in the topic title, NOT here.
Can U reproduce the problem & if so how reliably?:I can reproduce the problem by installing a completely new Win8x64 and activate the jumbo frames on the network card and as soon as Comodo firewall is installed the speed goes from 40-45Mo/sec to 21-22 Mo/sec. If I deactivate the Comodo in the parameters of the network adaptater (important properties of the network adapter. If I simply disable the firewall it doesn’t change the speed) all is fine again.:
If U can, exact steps to reproduce. If not, exactly what U did & what happened:Install Win8 then comodo and enable jumbo frames : No speed difference
If not obvious, what U expected to happen:
If a software compatibility problem have U tried the conflict FAQ?:Only Win8 and Comodo installed:
Any software except CIS/OS involved? If so - name, & exact version: No Only Comodo (downloaded from the web site 3 february 2013 version 6.0.264710.2708 (old version 5 for Win8 Beta) has the same problem too:
Any other information, eg your guess at the cause, how U tried to fix it etc:The parameters of comodo don’t seem to change anything, Only unchecking Comodo from the network adapter is important.
Always attach - Diagnostics file, Watch Activity process list, (dump if freeze/crash). If complex - CIS logs & config, screenshots, video, zipped program (not m’ware)Comodo says all is fine
[/ol]
B. YOUR SETUP (Likely the same for each issue, so you can copy forward)
[ol]- Exact CIS version & configuration:6.0.264710.2708 Configuration : Internet Security
Modules enabled & level. D+/HIPS, Autosandbox/BBlocker, Firewall, & AV:All the modules are enabled (default parameters)
Have U made any other changes to the default config? (egs here.): Only said that the network was a trusted one:
Have U updated (without uninstall) from a previous version of CIS:No, completely new install (as it is a new Win8 Installation
[li]if so, have U tried a a clean reinstall - if not please do?:Yes see previous point
[/li]- Have U imported a config from a previous version of CIS:No
[li]if so, have U tried a standard config - if not please do:Yes
[/li]- OS version, SP, 32/64 bit, UAC setting, account type, & VM used:OS version, Win8x64 First account created (so Administrator) UAC setting Enabled standard from Windows, account type Administrator, & VM used Hyper-v Not installed (if installed it doesn’t change , if Comodo is allowed in the properties of the network card it is slow:
Other security/sandbox software a) currently installed b) installed since OS:None (but Comodo of course) b) None (There is only Intel driver Nvidia driver hyper-v (I can remove it it is not needed)
[/ol]
PS : The Win8 is an image made only to test the network problem. As soon as the problem is solved, the vhd will be deleted. Main computer with a lot more program also has the problem
EDIT2 : Corrected post instead of a new post in the thread. If I must create a new thread please tell me

Thank you very much for your bug report in standard format. We very much appreciate the effort you have made to document this bug.
We are sorry to trouble you further but there are some items of information missing or unclear in your post:
Other security/sandbox software a) currently installed b) installed since OS: a) None (but Comodo of course) b)
Exact CIS version & configuration:6.0.264710.2708
Always attach - Diagnostics file, Watch Activity process list, (dump if freeze/crash). If complex - CIS logs & config, screenshots, video, zipped program (not m’ware)Comodo says all is fine
The reasons we need these items of information, though they may not seem directly relevant to the issue are explained here.
We would be very grateful if you would add these items of information so we can forward this post to the format verified board, where it is more likely to get fixed. You can find assistance using red links in the Format and here. If you need further help please ask a mod. If you do not add the information after a week we will forward this post to the non-format board. If this happens we will tell you how to rectify this if you wish to.
In the current process we will normally leave it up to you whether you want to make a report which includes all necessary information or not. We may remind you if we think a bug of particular importance.
Looks fine thanks. For the future the red links in the format give help. So they explain what a configuration is - I’ve assumed from you answer yours is ‘Internet Security’
Others have had problems with Hyper-V. Would be great if you could try uninstalling this driver and see if it resolves.
Thank you very much for your report in standard format, with all information supplied. The care you have taken is much appreciated by Comodo, and will increase the likelihood that this bug can be fixed.
Developers may or may or may not communicate with you in the forum or by PM/IM, depending on time availability and need. Because you have supplied complete information they may be able to replicate and fix the bug without doing so.
Without Hyper-v, it doesn’t change, the speed is still slow (22 Mo / sec instead of 40-45) And without installing hyper-v (new Win 8 installation) it is slow. The only thing to install to reproduce the problem is Comodo. Even the defaults drivers have the problem as soon as Comodo is installed.
Thanks for verifying. Just that we have another bug report about Hyper V.
Tried to allow Java, but then it started complaining that I had an insecure version. Downloaded new one, it would not install, saying a downloaded file was corrupt, then that another one could not be downloaded. Will wait for them to sort themselves out I think.
There is no problem.
Should you need me to put any diagnostic software on the computer please tell me.
the vhd will be deleted when the problem is solved so I can put anything on the windows as it is only for the test. (it is a true Windows installed on a vhd, not a hyper-v guest)
Can you please check and see if this is fixed with the newest version? Please let us know whether it is fixed or you are still experiencing the problem.
the bug is still there. The speed is capped when the filter driver is checked in the network adapter (25 Mo / sec) and 55-56 Mo/sec when it is unchecked.
the last Update has been applied and it says there is no new version (version 6.1.276867.2813)
I am sorry for the time it took to answer but I was not before my PC yesterday.
Marc
Can you please check and see if this is fixed with the newest version (6.2.282872.2847)? Please let us know whether it is fixed or you are still experiencing the problem.
