Save Comodo Time Machine!

Thanks, Kopro! :-TU

You’re welcome my friend!

If it does not survive a boot, it’s not CTM-like.
The alternative for this would be TimeFreeze (which is freeware and have a little longer development time).

A tipical abandonware…

That’s right Tech, Shadow Defender is a light virtualization app, it works per session only and you cannot accumulate sector changes across several reboots in the way snapshot apps like CTM and RX do.

I assume you meant Toolwiz Time Freeze. As I mentioned before it’s a decent new app, but it still cannot undo certain bootkits/rootkits that Shadow defender has absolutely no problem with. It’s a shame that such a brilliant app as SD has faced such development problems. I’m really surprised that no big company like Symantec, McAfee etc. hasn’t tried to to buy the rights to its code and then put their considerable resources to update it and take it to its full potential.

Hell, Microsoft themselves could have integrated the SD code into Win8 and make the OS untouchable. Looks like there is a significant lack of foresight from the big companies when such code exists and it is being wasted on a small Chinese one-man operation.

Imagine what Comodo could do with such code in their hands. Melih, please buy the Shadow Defender code and plant it into CIS!

Maybe we should start a new thread/poll about this. Comodo fans, would you like to see full light virtualization functions built into CIS? Specifically, would you like to have the bootkit/rootkit killing abilities of Shadow Defender fully integrated into CIS?

I know I would…

Poll now here:

https://forums.comodo.com/news-announcements-feedback-cis/should-comodo-include-full-light-virtualization-functions-into-cis-t86643.0.html

Not really. The poll continues here. Your poll is for new features. There is a sticky for that.

Any news?

I never said that my poll would replace this one Tech! As you correctly pointed out it is for different features. I remain a faithful lurker to this thread, and always look forward towards any CTM3 news!

I have been using CTM 2.8 at my office comp for 9 month. No past snapshots are deleted. CTM used only 39 GB for all snapshots.

Look at the name of the “Current” snapshot. This is expectation of CTM 2.8.

I’m still waiting for another update from Razvan Raschito.

I’m one of the people who had CMT and Rollback RX fail in the same way - failed to restore a snapshot after corrupted drive. I have been waiting a long time for this release, over a year and a half. I have been hoping as promised the new CTM 3 will be designed from scratch and not just a new shell put on the same engine with a few tweaks. As Comodo did not create the original code CTM was created on, this would be like a lawn mower mechanic having to suddenly redesign and build a car - they would have to back engineer the entire code base, understand it, and be able to create a working code similar to but superior to the old code. I’m very leery yet hopeful about this project.

Perhaps someone can tell me if there are any known issues that may have caused both softwares to fail? I am using windows 7 64 bit with an AMD Sempron 2 single core processor. Or perhaps some other factor… motherboard perhaps? I’ll answer questions if anyone can think of some that might help me nail this down. When I do try CTM 3, I wish to feel a little more confidant about it. Thanks.

Anyone sent a PM to Razwan requesting detailed info about upcoming CTM & features as mentioned by Melih?

Me have just asked him to kindly inform us in this thread about how’s things going with CTM 3.

This silence is deafening…

i sent Razvan a PM 2 weeks ago and havent heard anything

Safe the saviors of CTM…
We’re almost giving up…

Razvan is VERY busy with a project until end of the month.

You can guess the next question

Which project? ;D

And of course: is there an ETA for a CTM 3 beta?
