The status went fro secure to at risk because the real time protection stopped.
I restarted and it resumed only to shut down again a few minutes later.
I tried the repair option and again it failed.
I reinstalled the program and while it functioned I had the other problem of an unresponsive quarantine.
Also note that at least to ccav files were auto sandboxed at the time of the original problem.
