You are posting a quote for downloading from windowsupdate.com. If you also see the problem with the certificates with windowsupdate.com like with downloading from comodo.com then the problem is with your connection. The fact that problems with certificates coincides with download speed issues is in my view a red herring.

I strongly urge you start an investigation into your Internet connection because there obviously is something wrong there. It is best to seek support at the online support forum of your provider or connect by phone with their helpdesk. Or you could start a topic here in the general section because your problems are not specifically related to Comodo.

All future posts about your problems in this topic will be split off to a new topic.

Hello Dharshu,

Unfortunately https://download.comodo.com/ does still not work, it gives “404 Not Found”.
I checked with Firefox 76 using a new and fresh profile and with Tor Browser with many different circuits so request origin does not matter.

I have attached images of both browsers showing the error.

the update function is working correctly now. thanx

Acess denied to Link :-TU

updates is correct

Ok - Browsers access denied to link: https://download.comodo.com/
Ok - CIS update function works, see attached image.
Ok - Double check, when adding line “127.0.0.1 download.comodo.com” to hosts file CIS update function fails as expected.

All well then.

i have the 404 page here, via firefox 78. with that link.

Guys, stop testing by using the browser to access https://download.comodo.com . The page is most likely not meant to be accessed by a browser.

Please only check with the CIS updater because that is where the problems are. If you want to test using the browser try downloading an installer from CIS or other Comodo product.

That’s how I understood Liosant’s post #521.

How do you mean? The 404 error has no relation to problems with certificates and can therefor not be used to report about the state of the certificate issues.

I just was trying to say that from Liosant’s post I got the impression that the page most probably is not meant to be accessed by a browser like you already said.

In my post #523 I tried to sum everything up that all works as it should even when still getting the 404 error in the browser, maybe I was a bit too cryptic.

People can get confused when they see the 404 error in their browser, maybe a blank page would resolve this confusion.

With regard to the latter that is why I suggested to test by trying to download an installer of CIS or other Comodo products because then they won’t get the 404 error.

The 404 message is according to the HTTP guidelines:
The HTTP specification suggests the phrase “Not Found”[2] and many web servers by default issue an HTML page that includes both the 404 code and the “Not Found” phrase.

Maybe not a failsafe test, if I remember correctly I could download the offline installer while people were having and reporting update problems.

Currently (just tested it) I can download the offline installer without errors but yet the browser still reports the 404 error when accessing the page directly.

The 404 error is not related to the certificate error. As the Wikipedia article states:"

to indicate that the browser was able to communicate with a given server, but the server could not find what was requested.

The 404 error indicates is no webpage to show or file to download at https://download.comodo.com . Using it as a test case confuses people because of the 404 error . That’s why I advice to test using a download link and see if the browser reports a problem with the certificate.

I don’t see the problem with certificates here in the Netherlands. From what I gathered earlier in the process it seems to be happening on other branch(es) of the CDN than the European branch.

I have split off the posts about the problems with the certificates of the Comodo servers into this topic. The problem deserves its own topic and it is not related to the release of CIS and tends to overcrowd the release topic at times.

using download . comodo . com isnt a good example for the average person. Theirs no substance on link.

heres a better example
