With 11.01 the old style mouse gestures have returned after a lot of users complained about it.
New snapshot of Opera 11.01 build 1164.
Yes, but the Flips are still erratic.
There seems to be a lot of love for Opera here. I use to use it back in 9.64 days, but 10 didn’t do it for me. Do you think I should give 11 a go or is it a lot like 10? I am just bored with all browsers and they seem to be copy catting one another to much. Thanks
Well, it’s always worth a go! If you install Opera in ‘USB’-mode it’ll put all of its files into one folder where you want it.
You should be able to import your bookmarks from your current browser.
As for copying, Opera is the one that gets copied the most.
I’m still using Opera 11 beta. I tried to download something in opera 11 final and I got a BSOD and now I’m scared to try it again.
Opera 11 added extensions support. You can use things like WOT in opera now.
Opera was one of the first browsers made. Other browsers like Firefox came long after. I believe that opera had builds in the making before IE 1 was released. Opera is the oldest browser still around that has tab support as well.
BTW, re. Mouse Flips: it seems that the sensitivity is at 5 by default and some were lowering that to 2; now that the Gestures have been ‘fixed’ (FSVO) the sensitivity needs to be reduced (i.e. increase the number). I’ve just gone to 12 and it does seem better. RoadHazard posted:
After installing this snapshot, remember to set opera:config#UserPrefs|GestureThreshold to something you feel comfortable with, as this setting is now back to meaning "the number of pixels you have to move before a gesture is triggered". I have it set to 5 px, which lets me do really small gestures while still not triggering gestures when right-clicking and accidentally moving the cursor a pixel or two.In the 11.00 gesture system, that setting was a relative number not related to pixels (and it only accepted values from 1 to 5 - now it accepts any pixel value). So if you have it set to 2 or something like that (that’s what I used to try to combat the awkward gestures of 11.00), you’ll probably want to change it to something a bit higher.
Please check if you have minidump(s) in the C:/Windows/Minidump folder, attach the file(s) to the post and I’ll tell you what caused BSOD (maybe there was a conflict with another program running in the background or had nothing to do with Opera at all).
It really doesn’t bother me, because opera 11 beta is just as good and doesn’t have this problem. This was ages ago BTW. I checked the BSOD at the time and no .sys files were mentioned.
Thanks. I will give it a go sometime. I use to think 9.64 was good so I give 11 a chance. I agree Opera does get copied quite a lot. Thanks for comments Giraffe.
BSOD’s are very likely caused by drivers in cases like this. Browsers don’t run at kernel level (may be IE when running Active X scripts) and can’t make a computer crash.
It is probably Opera hitting a nerve in a graphics or network driver. Try updating them.

Opera 11 final build 1176 only for Ubuntu and Debian based distros.
Quote from Ruario:
We have just pushed a new Opera 11.00 release for Linux and FreeBSD to our ftp, deb and download servers. The reason we're doing this is that we just realized that the signing key for Debian packages expires the 23rd this month. Since Opera 11.01 is slated to be shipped after this date, we need to issue an updated Opera 11.00 with a new signing key before that, so that people are actually able to update to Opera 11.01 using the default package manager. This new build is squarely aimed at users of Ubuntu and other Debian based Linux distros. However, to keep the build numbers on all UNIX platforms in sync, we’ve also pushed new builds for FreeBSD and others. You do not have to update unless you have a Ubuntu or Debian based distro. If you use Windows or Mac, there is also no need to update.

Opera 11.01 build 1190 RC2.
Hello.
If I may I would ask a question. Is it true that Opera is a fastest Internet browser?
Because I heard some opinion that Chrome is faster than Opera. I really am not a specialist so …
Is CIS working the same with both browsers?
