Norton DNS Now Has Web Filtering And A Client/Utility Program!

Hello,

I just went to the Norton DNS website and noticed that things looked different, and there is now Web Filtering and a Client/Utility Program available along with the already available Malware Blocking; so I guess that makes Norton DNS possibly better than Open DNS Free at this time, as far as Features available for Free users and for the Security Conscious. :o

You can now register for a free account and pick your own block categories and white lists and black lists! :o

:o

I hope/look forward to Comodo Secure DNS getting Web Filtering, a Client/Utility Program, and a few other things in the near future.

Ggoodjohnjr,

If I understand correctly what Norton says on its site, its DNS blocks KNOWN unsafe and infected sites as well phising. So it doen’t appear to do more than Comodo DNS. Or am I missing something?

Boris

Sorry Boris, you are missing something.

As soon as I seen the new updates, I immediately signed up for a free account and I am now testing the new features; you know how I like to test stuff.

Let me post some screenshots my friend.

There is even a Client now.

But I was wrong about the Beta part  , but the new features and client are now there!

it looks nice

Yeah, I am still shocked/surprised, I was not expecting this. :o

I was testing ClearCloud DNS, but as soon as I seen the new Norton DNS, I instantly started testing it.

It does look good from a visual perspective, but it would be nice for an a new test by Languy or someone for all of them, to see which really protects the best and why… along with a list of good points and bad points about each individual offering?

“Poor Languy, you know you really wanna?!” >:-D

Well surely it could help protect the user against itself. Looks like some sort of parental control but for oneself. Could help addicts of some sorts of sites to change habits. :o

I think I will test it for fun seek; normally I hate norton!

The Web Filtering is optional.

I like how you said that though.

I wonder will it help me with my testing addiction?

Well, I guess you got TestForFunItis too, I apologize for my spreading the Virus here.

Yeah, come on Languy, you know you want to Test Them! The TestForFun Virus is attempting to Infect Languy

Well maybe he is So Famous now that we will have to contact his Agent or Bodyguard first.

Oh no my dear, I wasn’t at all thinking of testing of softwares…unless you meant others testings ;D
this activity seems quite sound, at least for the little grey cells.

One of the things I was thinking of, you have checked already in your list. But I’ll say no more. ???

no just tired and all that. But I guess I will test them tonight.

which do you find best.

No rush Languy, be interesting to watch your findings. ;D

I knew what you probably were talking about.

I like to block several categories of websites for myself/family/friends, but not because of any addictions, just normal defenses against possibly unwanted websites.

I am GoodJohnJr after all. :a0

The Famous Languy has arrived! The Crowd Cheers (:AGL)

Get some rest, I imagine you have been busy, but can I have your autograph?

Goodjohnjr,

I was just pulling you leg.

Boris

Ouch, stop pulling my leg, Security!!

Finished up, just rendering right now. I tested Clear Cloud, Norton and Comodo dns.
