New Version 12.3.4.8162 Available for Comodo Internet Security 2025

And you removed the below group from Protected Files?

If I remove Windows Sockets Interface, I will no longer be able to monitor and protect communications that use Windows Sockets.

This means that I will no longer have network traffic analysis generated by the application, helping to identify and block malicious activities that will try to exploit vulnerabilities in my network communications.

That’s why I didn’t delete it.

That was added in to prevent elevated privileges containment leak and not to do with network traffic analysis or firewall. If you really want to browse in a sandbox, your better off in a virtual environment like Secure Shopping was or if you upgrade Windows 11 to Pro (I did this very cheaply over Christmas), you can run it in Windows’s own Virtual Environment/Sandbox. Secure Shopping was a great product. Would love to see it updated and developed again.Anyway, you could try tweaking that HIPS setting to something suggested in @DecimaTech 's post.

Your explanation was very good, as was @DecimaTech .

If I remove this functionality that COMODO implemented, could I become vulnerable to containment?

Because until now I have not been able to understand in detail why COMODO implemented this.

If COMODO implemented it, I believe it is for protection. If I remove it, will I be left unprotected, which is what I am afraid of, and will my containment be compromised?

The best version to date!

Thank you very much Domo78.

It is of course with disappointment and regret that I am going to try this…

Thanks again.

Hello. dear EricCryptid, if you leave everything as it is now in version 12.3.4.8162.And to launch browsers, use the Sandboxie Plus 1.15 program.4. How do you think the drivers, CIS auto sandboxes and Sandboxie Plus 1.15.4 will be compatible

There shouldn’t be any conflict as Sandboxie uses it’s own sandbox. I’ve tested running windows sandbox (win 11 pro) and apart from a firewall pop-up no issue.

Its no point in using CIS anymore its better to switch to Xcitium as Xcitium gets daily updates and bug fixes and improvements and CIS gets improvements in like 6 Months or 1 Year after the release…
Guys just switch to Xcitium
and i also think that Comodo should just shut down their free products because its better for them
Xcitium should be only paid…

If they care more about Xcitium then CIS then @Melih should just Shut Down CIS forever

@Melih Just Admit it Bro your Staff Only cares about Xcitium and almost never about CIS
Just delete your CIS and say that Xcitium will be paid and not free anymore
CIS Never gets updates like Xcitium
CIS Does not have Valkyrie like it should of have in the Beta version…
CIS has many vurnabalities
Just Admit it bro
How do you want to handle people if you just care about Xcitium
Just delete your free products and switch to Xcitium…
And your staff just cares about Xcitium so just delete CIS Forever and just keep Xcitium
Thats the only solution
Just say to the people that you will Delete CIS Forever and if people want Xcitium they can buy it

In the big security forums on the internet, people have already given CIS a new name. They call it ABANDONWARE. :expressionless:

I am concerned about customers who pay for CIS PRO.
They are paying without having resources and corrections.

  • If you prefer using Xcitium then use it.

  • CIS has always been behind the curve with updates but you are still just as secure with it. Even the recently discovered containment leak was fixed just one week after Xcitium.

  • Valkyrie isn’t necessary with CIS. If a file isn’t trusted by Comodo then it gets blocked or contained. You can just manually check a file yourself.

  • What vulnerabilities? Yes, there have been some bypass videos but where is the real-world in the wild example of malware that have been able to penetrate CIS.
These payloads have to get onto the system in the first place either via usb or downloaded and in all of these tests, features of CIS are disabled, the malware copied onto the system and then executed after features are re-enabled. So many videos stressing over signature detections and finding exploits without in the wild examples. If you want to fall into those types, go play with whatever antivirus/security they preach about or at the very least consider hardening your windows system with tools like Hard_Configurator and use a Standard User account.

  • Comodo is a consumer product and Xcitium is an Enterprise product. There is a necessity for both.

  • That’s not the solution and while there isn’t much staff around dealing directly with CIS gripes, they are approving your blackslists, developing Comodo Dragon etc.

  • Don’t make demands. It’s uncalled for.

People purchasing Comodo Pro will do their own research and make their own decisions.

Your starting to walk a thin line. This isn’t the place for slandering or flaming just to get attention from staff as it’s proven not to work. Go use Xcitium and take a breather or people posting similar posts will start being suspended for incremental periods if they persist.

But he didn’t say when or whether it was a paid for product. If it comes, it comes. It doesn’t affect real-time security of CIS.

Great, go do your thing.

Xcitium has Valkyrie and has daily updates and bug fixes etc
so i will leave CIS and switch to Xcitium
I will probably delete my forum account here on Comodo Forums

And yes Valkyrie is only for Xcitium as a Xcitium Staff member said
