Perhaps a “steps to reproduce” would help. There is no “trust to editors” setting in CIS. I assume what you’re talking about, based on perusing the menus and finding the problematic setting, is under Advanced Settings > File Rating > File Rating Settings > Rate applications according to their vendor rating. Uncheck that box and click OK.
I don’t have a complete PC lockup, but the CIS UI is no longer accessible. I’m also unable to use the regular uninstaller. After restart the tray menu doesn’t load, so the application can no longer be controlled at all. Even when it is accessible, disabling all containment settings doesn’t allow the UI to load. The CIS cleanup tool in safe mode can remove the program.
