but arent the guts all the same though?
Yes, but to say Dragon is Chrome is incorrect. That’s like saying an Acura is a Honda (as the guts are the same for the most part)
Dragon is Comodo’s own implementation of the Chromium project.
Exactly. A more accurate statement would be to say that Chrome & Dragon are both Chromium based. There are derivatives of every major browser code:
Gecko=Mozilla, SeaMonkey, Firefox, K-Meleon etc.
Trident=IE, Lunascape, Maxthon etc.
Webkit=Chromium, Arora, Epiphany etc.
Then you can have versions based on those derivatives, which is where Chromium breeds Chrome, Dragon, SRWare Iron among others.
Hope this clears things up a bit. ![]()
1.) Menu-Bar to be placed on the top as an option.
2.) Bookmarks to be placed on the left as an option.
Thats it for the moment! (:KWL)
I love Comodo Dragon!!!.
But, when will you upgrade CD?. I am anxious for a new update.
My new ideas…
Leverage the fact Comodo also has a AV program also. For example make it possible that any file that is downloaded is sandboxed during the download and then scanned via the Comodo Antivirus (if installed of course) before it is actually ‘released’ onto your filesystem. In fact there is no reason why you couldn’t integrate any antivirus into this system. Yes, you could argue that once the file is written to the filesystem it will get scanned, but why place a file into your system and THEN scan it, why not scan it first while it is isolated, then release it.
Or any file that is attempted to be downloaded is first compared with comodo’s list of safe/not safe files (ie auto CIMA, or Comodo’s Cloud Scanner) and a report given advising the user on the results.
Just some ideas…
Hi,
anyone here know Opera?
My idea is to add to Comodo Dragon a tool to block web content with a simple click on a banner advertisement, similar to Opera.
I want comodo supports additional themes downloaded from deviantart.com.
I don’t think any iteration of Chromium has a ‘Print Preview’ option, so I’m probably right in thinking Dragon doesn’t have it either, though it’s a few weeks since I last downloaded it to give it a spin.
It’s speed is brilliant, but until it has a ‘Print Preview’ I won’t be using it, and looking around the web it’s apparent that lot’s of people agree with me. For some of us it’s important to see the layout and what fits on each page before printing. That’s where IE, Firefox & Opera have the edge over what is otherwise an excellent browser.
Whoever manages to incorporate Print Preview into their particular development of Chromium will have a winner.
Melih: Take a look at the Fx extension: Linkextend. Maybe expand?
My Best, Diligent
With CD, I download files very slowly.
You should do something to download files with good speed.
I don’t have such a problem and I use VMs. Please provide a little more information in a detailed Bug Report in the Bugs section of the forum so that the Devs can look into it.
Well, My “new idea” is Comodo Dragon Team improve the downloads system.
For example, with CD I download files at 60 kps, while in IE those files are downloaded at 200 kps.
That’s not feature request. There is probably something on your system throttling you or something inside the dragon code, that is interfering with your OS. I’m able to hit 1.7MBs via Dragon and IE just fine.
The main thing that is stopping me from moving to CD/chrome right now is that in the bookmark bar I can only have one, in Firefox I can download an extension to display multiple rows, and in opera it has it built in. I would hope that comodo can mod the chrome code to allow this, many people want this option and I think if comodo offered it, they would have many more users.
+1
Merhaba, Melih!
It´s been a couple of days that i´m using CD.
Just two little things from Opera, which i miss in CD:
- “Edit Site Preferences”- separately editing preferences for any site/open tab
Just klick f12 (quick preferences)- Edit Site Preferences, and there you go.
I mean, in Opera.
Why not in CD too?
Very simple and very functional. - “Send referrer information”- where you can choose whether or not to send them.
I don´t know if there is a need for such an option in CD, but if there is- and that option is already
in Opera- why shouldn´t it be in CD too?
And, by the way, why don´t you have build-in the “Speed dial” option?
With the extension (Speed dial, v. 2.0) i´m just having problems, every time i start the computer all my speed- dial tabs are erased and i have to go from the beggining.
All the best!
You can use the command -no-referrers
More commands: src.chromium.org SVN
I used it, and it works. Thanks, JoWa. ![]()
But yet, it should be fixed inside of the CD.
