I need a media player.

I am wonder what people with more experience are using and recommend as best.

VLC or GOM player. VLC plays everything, but it’s pretty ugly even with skins. GOM has a much nicer interface and plays almost everything :slight_smile:

P.S. KMPlayer and Kantaris are also pretty good. Choose one that fits you’re needs. I use GOM myself.

Windows Media Player will give you an unrivalled sharpness of image. Just make sure you download the following add-ons:

  http://www.divxmovies.com/codec/   (make sure to uncheck all the boxes except the codec)

For compatibility issues VLC Official download of VLC media player, the best Open Source player - VideoLAN will read close to everything, as Cocktail said.

You will hardly need anything else.
