FIXED! COMODO Firewall can cause BSODs when gameprotect rootkit triggers its self defense.
This only talks about BSODs. Not about gameguard restarting the comp because of comodo.
Today, there was update of Game Guard that apparently fixes problem from their side. I can confirm that now GG doesn’t reboot computer while Defense+ is activated .

gameguard still reboots comp over here but not when defense+ is permanently disabled.

maybe it depends on version of GG used by the game…
which game (with GG) do you play successfully with D+ on?
I am playing Cabal Online Europe. It uses Game Guard revision 1196 (last update was on 28.05.2008) and it works without problems wit Defense+ activated. I thought all games use same version of GG…
It looks like my version of MapleStory Europe uses GG created at 25-10-2007 - this date is written in c:\Program Files\NEXON\EuropeMapleStory\GameGuard\GameGuard.ver. To test it more: I have deleted everything in this folder, GG updated itself and restart followed immediately. Date in mentioned file remained the same after update.

according to wikipedia it should be revision 1176 nProtect GameGuard - Wikipedia
You can see revision number when you hover over blue shield icon that appears in taskbar when GG loads. GameGuard.ver shows Fri Jul 7 17:56:30 2006 what is questionable imo.
Yes with the latest version of Gameguard - everything works fine. Cabal Online was first game that use latest revision of Gameguard- 1176. I think the problem is resolved now…
It looks like MapleStory Europe works again, finaly! GG is updated to revision 1195.
ye its not comodo problem, I restored my PC with clean Ghost copy & Gameguard still restarts my PC if I try to play Flyff without any firewalls installed ( As i said Clean XP copy ). Its fkin gameguard that causing the problem!

jana4u’s GameGuard version is 1195 (see quote above). When I checked my son’s Flyff’s GameGuard version last June 1st it’s still in version 1059. I don’t know the mechanics of updating GameGuard. I’m not familiar with Flyff. But just this morning when I opened Flyff to see if the problem was already resolved, my computer rebooted again. Check first Flyff’s Game Guard version. If its not updated report this to Flyff’s moderators. To check, hover your mouse’s cursor over the blue shield icon of Game Guard in the taskbar.

I deleted Flyff long time ago so Im not playing it anymore, but to update gameguard just delete the gameguard folder under Flyff folder, it will then update itself auto when you start flyff.

I followed your instructions but deleted only the files inside the GameGuard folder but not the folder itself. GG updated but Flyff still restarts the computer. Anyway I think I have found a “solution” to this problem and will post it in another thread because I think there is a bug in defense+ settings. The title of my new thread is “Defense+ Bug??? (GameGuard Problem)”. Here’s the link:
