thanks for the pointer
I passed it to our developers to see what they will do. They are already well down the line replacing installshield but I passed the details anyway.

After only 3 days I will give it a 4. I would like to see the pop-ups reduce for applications that I have used muliple times each day and would like to see my query eMails responded to by now.
Dave.
Dave
Pls go to
Security > Advanced and select
Automatically Approve Safe Applications
and
Basic Popup Logic
that should reduce the pop ups…
thanks
Melih
I was just about to ask the same question…
Under Security / Advanced. Mine doesn’t have those options. I’ve run the updater but there isn’t any updates. My “about” says version: 2.1.0.1

Scratch that last message… Just had another look and it’s there…

100% background CPU usage with CPF v2 slows performance of all other apps.
Thanks to the Comodo team for all your work creating FREE, refined CPF v2. 4/5 Rating
2.40 Intel Pentium 4, 1024 MB Memory, Windows XP Pro SP2
Comodo Personal Firewall (CPF) is my current preference out of the free firewall programs. I have rated it as 4 / 5 because it CPF lacks a single feature that I did not suffer when used Norton Personal Firewall nor ZoneLabs ZoneAlarm: inability to use my computer after installing CPF!!! Refer to the post “CPF Hangs PC Upon Startup” (accessible at: https://forums.comodo.com/index.php/topic,448.0.html) for reference about such a problem. One more reason for rating it less than 5 is that it does not offer password protection for the program settings!
G’day,
Bummer about the hang on startup. They’re really responsive. I assume you’ve emailed support @ comodo.com about this?
Password protection is definitely in the pipeline, as are many other enhancements. Please perservere, there are a lot of exciting developments being discussed that should make Comodo the premier firewall/security app.
Mr. Norton and the rest should start looking over their collective shoulders right about now.
Ewen
I should think they are already. I’m sure Comodo is already making a dent in their market share.

Yeah! The tech guys have responded to my problem and they are currently investigating that issue.
I am looking forward to get the feature very soon! After looking around the forum threads/posts, I have found that same feature is already enlisted in the wish list in addition to other great suggestions for imporvements and enhancements.
I totally agree with your opinion! ;D
Ok, so a just installed this one nice piece of software on one of my two desktops and on my laptop. It is realy nice firewall but I do have a few notes:
really, it needs password protection (i know it’s been mentioned x-times, and you guys are propably working on it allready … but it doesn’t hurt to point it out ones again, does it? )
next one is for all the laptop users out there: I really would love to be able to sort zones not only by ip-range/mask but also by network adapters. i.e.: my laptop has an ethernet connection, wi-fi connection, bluetooth network access connection, dial-up modem connection… and now to illustrate: I have an bluetooth access point to my home LAN ( 192.168.0.0/192.168.0.255 ) which is trusted network … and than there is this ethernet LAN at hostel using the same IP-range, which definately is not trusted … so I would really love to be able to make 192.168.0.0-255 @ BT_adapter a diferent zone than the 192.168.0.0-255 @ ethernet_adapter.
a next great thing IMO would be, an ability to set rules for whole groups of zones (said, i could make all those 3-zones i have here right now one “trusted group” and set common rules for them.
(this one was also posted befero by someone else I think … )
Well, thats all I can think off by now …
Keep up the good work [PS sorry for my English, I’m a bit out of praxis :> ]
Hey I have just installed this after using Zonealarm and I must say it is easy on the eyes but most importantly it does everything that ZA does if not better.ZA was getting a bit bloated with too many addons.
I say guys keep it simple, bloat free and you have me for life.Gotta rate it a 4/5 without password protection.
Oh yeah Go the Aussies (WCF3) and (R)
Hey Chey,
Welcome to the circus.
You think CPF rocks now? Hang on to your hernia belt - they’ve got some great, and I mean GREAT, things planned for future releases. Comodo are constantly working on making this THE premier firewall for Windows. The fact that they are already there hasn’t stopped them from working on this.
You’re going to owe them one star and raise your ranking to 5/5 soon.
Again, welcome to the forums.
(WCF3) Aussie Aussie Aussie OI OI OI!
The ability to add comments and group rules together in the “Network Control Rules” section would be nice.
Hiya panic and thanks for the welcome, now had the firewall installed for 3 days and still impressed with it.
And if I have to give up another star in the not too distant future,I will be more than happy too. ;D
(WCF3) And what a win by the boys in Germany.
Hi Guys,
just installed today both the firewall and the antivirus.I was really impressed and at first I can’t believe that is free for use even inside my company.I have a laptop and I have searched a lot until now a good and free firewall, especially one with no ads!!!
Yours is GREAT. I am also a software developer and I really apreciate all your wonderfull work.Keep it going and me and all my friends will be with you.
I give, it 4 for two reasons:
1.password protection
2. A more advanced logging which can allow us to do some traffic analyze.More desktops does not require this, but with the laptops… I work in different networks almost every day and at least for people like me a good logging system is a great tool to anticipate problems…
That’s all.Again Great Work and keep ít going
Hi dakota and welcome.
If you open CPF>>click ‘security’ tab at the top>>then click ‘network monitor’ at the side>>select the line with ‘block’ as its permission>>then right click and choose edit>>tick the box ‘create an alert when this rule is fired’.
This will allow blocked connections, port scans etc to be seen in the logs. You can also do this for the ‘allow’ rule to see information on what has been allowed. Is this what you were referring to with the advanced logging?
Hope this helps,
Mike
Traced 70-100% CPU Usage to Sandboxie Start.exe app. CPF2.1.1.1 alone 0% CPU.
Thanks again Comodo
