this product helped me beat a Zlob, Yazzle and IstBar infection stopping traffic and identifying the seed program embedded in system 32.
Would very much like to see a ‘traffic’ log. A log of all traffic with a search back function to identify ip addresses of attacks.
But then i am a forever fan boy of sygate which has been swallowed by the symantec black hole.

As a gamer it gets a 3 from me until the problems in that area are sorted. To be fair it is being looked into.
I can play none of my games with Comodo enabled as they all crash and make my PC unresponsive.
Bit Tornado is a problem too.
As for general use, it’s been very good.

I have always rated it a 4 or above for quality and features.
Now if they could just get the updates to CPF a little faster. ;D That really would be a plus. 
If I may add, it also passed the sygate scan, shield up and pc flank port scans. The ONLY TEST it FAILED was the pcflank leak test. Expecting an UPDATE soon
CPF looks good and made me uninstall Zonealarm in no time. only thing annoying I ofuns is it’s Learning and Turn on concept. so when it’s “Turned On” its not learning anymore? does it mean it wont catch any outgoing connections? and it asks thousand times for the same application same connection questions even after you select “Remember setting for the app” its kinda weird. in Zonalarm choices are loud and clear : Allow, Block, remember setting. It’s good in CPF that it allows me to see ports and make a narrower decision but I would appreciate a general Decision option like Allow firefox to connect using ANY ports rather its asking me EVERY time firefox might be innitiated by different software. for example if I lounch FFox as browser, CPF will ask to allow it and remember, then if FFox lounch is innitiated by other soft It’ll ask again. and so on , its pretty painful, I turned into a “Allow deny clicking monster” and thinking of switching backj to ZA to make things easier. UNLESS IM MISSING SOMETHING. let me know please if u know easier solution.
The CPF remembers what you have allowed.
on each popup you must leave checked the box that is there.
If you have it checked and still pops-up open CPF and go to
Security → Advanced → Program Settings and check the option “basic popup logic”

The CPF comes with a “safe list”. Next version of the CPF will have “Auto Allow Safe List”. This means anything that Comodo has in its safe list will automatically be allowed (if you have chosen this option of course) and won’t bother you with a popup. We are working towards an environment where the user does not have to mess around with pop ups. Please bear with us and keep helping and supporting us by using our product and giving us a feedback about how we can improve it. You will see that we will implement it for you

Welcome Verbotten to the forums. Yes you will still get popups in turned on mode.It should tell you something like “show libraries” then choose alloy/deny.This is component monitor of programs / apps. Hope this helps, tim
Tried last time with Comodo v2.0 and re-tried again recently with v2.0.0.1. I still have display bug issues with both versions as shown in the discussion below:

Not sure whether it is related to my screen display size or the font size??? Any help from Comodo tech staff on this issue?
I don’t think it is a bad programme but I want to uninstall it and it doesn’t work. The updates don’t work either as you have to uninstall the old copy and you can’t do this. I have even tried to pick it out manually or not run it at start up but it then disables my Broadband conection so I have to restore.
BTW:
As mentioned previously in other posting, this installation/uninstallation issue is nothing to do with Comodo written code. Its an installshield issue. Our guys are working on a new installer/uninstaller that does not use installshield.

Great firewall. Especially when its free! Installed it the other day.
Tested it at grc.com. Just by dialling from this PC.
It passed. Without me, having to change anything.
I also tested this PC when connected to the main PC at grc.com. It also passed.
With Zonealarm, I always had to change a few settings, in order to pass at grc.com (when I’m using the other PC to connect to the net).
Previously, I was using Zonealarm, but it didnt really block all ports by default. I usually had to change a few settings under programs, before the grc.com site detected everything as stealth. (There was always a port open using ZA, when I went thru the other PC).
I also used to use Norton Internet Security, BUT it installs too much bloatware.
And was a memory hog. Altho, I didnt really notice this bit running 1 GB of ram. The only thing with Nortons (well on the other PC here), was it was hard to remove it completely.
Even tho, I had removed it completely, XP SP2 and some other programs (like IM programs), were still using it as its default scanner! (Even tho it wasn’t installed).
At first, it was a bit hard to configure the Comodo firewall, since we’re on a LAN.
BUT, after I found the right option (the Trusted Zone Wizard), it was sweet as! I got this PC going thru the main computer, with ICS and file sharing working.

Free or not - this is THE best firewall I’ve come across for the mass market. Yes, a hardware firewall is better, but this is the ants pants as far as software FWs go.
I’ve installed it on over 30 PCs so far, and have only had to explicitly set three rules. Everything else is covered by the default rules. Memory use is OK (could be better, but everything could use less ;)), pop ups are informative and the interface is simple and logical.
Just a great job of coding!

As someone who gets to fix a lot of computer problems, InstallShield probably causes more problems than any other installer. I just don’t know why so many big companies use it, especially as it is a very expensive product.
I don’t know if it would meet your needs (because obviously system software has more complex installation requirements than the averag application) but ask your tech guys to look at Inno Setup. It has been a favourite of independent software authors for years, it’s free, the source code is available so you can change it if you want, and I have never, ever encountered a problem with it.
I would give this firewall a 5 also. But I tried a New leaktest from pcflank.com and it shows that a lot of firewalls didn’t pass the test except for TINY. Hmmm… anyways i tried with comodo firewall and it didn’t pass either. What’s up with that? just curious.
The next firewall update should allow CPF to pass this test.

Indeed, next upgrade (days away) will pass this too Tiny is a decent firewall, but they can’t match the power and speed of CPF, keep watching this space and see how fast we will develop our firewall to be " the firewall" (of course we need your help in telling us all the features )
