IT IS ALREADY NETWORKED WIRELESSLY. I do not need any help with that. you do not understand the problem even though I have repeated it many times.
I am a LOT older than your mother!!!
You do need help with Comodo and networking cause your Comodo needs to allow your laptop to communicate to your desktop. Why exactly do you need to uninstall Comodo?
This is what you wrote and what you need help with. Geezzz.
“Because of Comodo I cannot use my laptop to connect with my desktop because it won’t let me connect!”
In order for my laptop to communicate with my laptop Comodo has to be shut down! Comodo will NOT allow the connection.
If I disable it, I am left with no firewall protection at all. I need to get rid of Comodo and use the Windows firewall because the Windows firewall can be configured to allow the connection!
Unfortunately it is just about impossible to uninstall the Comodo firewall unless you are a computer professional, and I am NOT!
Because of this problem the laptop cannot be used to connect with the desktop because it would have NO firewall protection at all.
I do not know how to explain it any simpler than that…
Please try to hang in there this morning, yankee1620. I’ll be online again this afternoon (~2:00 PM CDT) to start with troubleshooting your system.
Thanks.
Comodo CAN be configured properly so that your desktop and laptop communicate with no issues. JUST ask. Make a thread under the help section.
What help section.
There are two. One is HELP and the other is HELP for V3, whatever that is.
OMG…this is getting funny. Your having a problem with Comodo V3. So then post your problem in the version 3 help section.
I have comodo version 1.0.0.1…not 3.
I don’t seem to find it as amusing as you do.
As long as you find it necessary to continuously be insulting, please do not reply any more.
Thank you.
The version number you referenced above pertains to the “Comodo Firewall Installer”, not the actual file that launches the firewall.
To determine the actual version of CFP you have, you will need to right-click on the following file (the actual file path may be different):
C:\Program Files\Comodo Firewall Pro\cfp.exe
then select “Properties”, then go to the “Version” tab and select “File Version” in the window, “Other Version Information.”
If you have the latest version of CFP installed, this number may show as “3.0.23.362”. This may be an error, as the programmers might not have updated the version information correctly for “cfp.exe”. The latest version is 3.0.24.368.
Its easier then that. Simply open up Comodo and click on the Miscellaneous tab then click About.

Yes, I know that, but if she cannot access the Graphical User Interface (GUI) for some reason, that won’t work. Let me try to work with her over the weekend and see if we can get her issue resolved.
Thanks.
Ok USSS but she can access Comodo. Her main problem is she cannot get Comodo to communicate properly between her laptop and desktop. Since she cannot figure it out or has to ask for help she wants to uninstall it. Read her first post here.
This is a bad joke. I have been trying to uninstall also. I feel sorry for Yankee having to put up with all these convoluted instructions and then getting insulted in the process. I don’t blame her for being upset. I am also. The software should uninstall simply and cleanly. It’s not ready for distribution until it does. There should at least be a warning before you in install. You shouldn’t need a degree in computer science to get off your machine.
The uninstall problem doesn’t happen to everyone. Comodo uninstalls on both my machines perfectly. Sometimes computers with corrupt OS’s may find problems. All of my family( 5 machines) use Comodo and they 2 have no problem uninstalling Comodo.
I agree with most of your post.
Once again, Comodo needs to develop and make available a special, standalone uninstaller similar to that offered by Norton/Symantec and Zone Alarm. The batch file that Ragwing created does a pretty thorough job, but Comodo needs to offer another tool and support its use.
+1
A definite yes very good idea USSS there are a lot of users who do not have the expertise to use batch files etc.

In mid-December, shortly after this thread began, I removed CPF3 from my PC with some help from the earlier posts. Cleaning up took most of my PC skills, and I vowed not to try CPF again until the uninstalling problems were resolved. Hence I have been monitoring this thread.
Here we are, 6 months later, and it seems that Comodo developers have totally ignored the tales of woe described herein. This is despite that fact that Uninstall and ReInstall is usually part of fixing most CPF malfunctions.
I have used CPF’s main rival, Online Armor, for the intervening period without any significant problems. It is worth mentioning that until recently OA Free needed to be uninstalled, prior to upgrading to a newer version, which was quite painless.
It surely seems that there is no reason to change my decision.
May I sincerely congratulate USSS and other helpers for their patience and dedication in providing support to Comodo.

I am going to third USSS’s idea. I think that would be a big help especially one that was compatible with the new versions that have SafeSurf and uninstall that completely so the reinstall bug where the screen is not presented to install SafeSurf. I have this bug currently. The only fix I know of at the moment is to re-install the entire OS, which is not entirely a bad thing for me since I use vLite.
I would also like to say I agree with MauriceW in congratulating everyone on this forum that takes their time to help users out.
Hmmm. I have some ideas, but I need to do some research first. And after that, I would need some help.
Later all.
