Free usefull programs

Here’s one I didn’t get to use yet but i’ll bet many will want…

Very nice

Don’t know if you’ve got this, but Universal Extractor is v. useful if you download much. It does almost any zip, rar etc. and the choices are handy.

I don’t know how many here will have a need for this, but if you do need to write in Indian languages, I strongly recommend Baraha. It now has excellent Unicode functionality, and lets you easily switch between any of around 20 Indian languages, and now even offers Braille support.

The collection has been updated now including Baraha.

Hi Justin, sorry to contact you here, but I can’t PM you, everyone else yes, not you. I emailed you a few days ago explaining, I just tried again, nothing, 90 sec delay only with you though! :o I will ask Nick about it.

Paul

No problem, I never received the e-mail, I hope you didn’t send it to my hotmail account (i never check it).

Justin

EDIT
Just checked my hotmail account, got your e-mail and replied. I gave you an alternative e-mail to use as well, this way I can reply quicker.

Ok Justin, thanks

http://www.lavalys.com/

Lavalys provides integrated management and monitoring solutions for Windows-based systems which addresses the growing needs for organizations to protect their IT network investments without breaking their budgets.

I have updated the Free Usefull Programs collection, it now includes Lavalys.

After reading through this list I haven’t seen my favorite little program listed. It is “starter” from http://members.lycos.co.uk/codestuff/ . With this you can start and stop any of your start-up programs; you can see all your running processes and the amount of resources they are using, and can terminate any processes right from there; you can also see all your services listed and can edit them, start them, or stop them whenever you choose. I find it so handy it is always the first utility that I install.

I’ve updated the Free Useful Program’s Collection, it now includes “Starter”.

This is not a program but rather a handy online storage place. Great for backing up files and you can get 1 gigabyte of storage for free. Max upload size per file is 10 MB but still pretty useful:

The Collection has been updated.

Box has been added under the freeware sites section.

I also added StartRight in utilities, and a2 Hijack Free in security-related.

LM

Thanks Little Mac, you saved me the time, especially since I have been busy and haven’t been able to do much online lately

VirtualBox - http://www.virtualbox.org/ - “InnoTek VirtualBox is a family of powerful x86 virtualization products for enterprise as well as home use. Not only is VirtualBox an extremely feature rich, high performance product for enterprise customers, it is also the only professional solution that is freely available as Open Source Software under the terms of the GNU Public License (GPL).”
VMware competition, similar functions to VMware Server.

VirtualBox has been added to the “Collection” under the Utilities section.

LM

I didn’t see these here.

MBM 5 - A utility to monitor various sensors on your motherboard. Once configured it displays temperature related and fan speed related information in a number of ways. It can also be use as a plugin for Samurize.

Bluk Rename Utility (IMHO the best)

Bulk Rename Utility is a utility which allows you to easily rename files and directories, based upon extemely flexible criteria. Add date-stamps, replace numbers, insert strings, convert case, add auto-numbers, process folders and subfolders…plus loads more!

SIV ( System Information Viewer)

All for now.

Toggie

By the way, this is a success. I get lost in the collection. The list is HUGE!

The Collection has been updated, all of the suggestions posted by Toggie have been added under the “Utilities” section.

Good to hear, unless you mean that the way we setup the collection is sloppy (lol) ;D.

Justin

Maybe if we’re lucky a kind volunteer will sort all the links by type in alphabetical order 88)
