2) I double clicked to open Crystal X. It started a process, but did not pop up with a window. After waiting a few minutes I found out it was running a checkup scan. However, I did not choose this.
Seems like settings messed up with previous version settings - will be fixed.
3) For VirusTotal it did not display the results. I have attached a screenshot of this.
Can you please specify a little bit:
You tried VirusTotal with Re-Analyze option enabled under Settings?
4) After setting up Comodo File Intelligence as it showed in the tutorial I went back to the file manager screen, selected "Analyze with File Intelligence", selected the file, and clicked Analyze. However, nothing happened and the screen did not flip. Also, I then tried analyze with all services, and it wouldn't work either. It had the same behavior. However, the other options still worked. Thus, I think the problem was with Comodo File Intelligence.
Confirmed and will be fixed.
4) When you click on the option to allow Comodo File Intelligence I think it should open up the Comodo File Intelligence window automatically and provide you with a text box explaining what to do. Forcing users to watch a youtube video may be confusing for many.
I´ll try to improve it.
P.S. New version is almost done. All reported bugs should be fixed already and new version will be available very soon.
Settings were default. I had not yet altered it to allow Comodo File Intelligence.
What i mean is that instead of reporting how many vendors detected the file it just read “Virus Total Result”. However, it didn’t explicitly say what the result was.
I ran the program for each service individually. Default settings. For some reason Valkyrie and CAMAS made me specifically select the file from the window which pops up. I then added Comodo File Intelligence and it worked correctly. However, when I ran it to analyze with all services one of the services (I forget whether it was Valkyrie or CAMAS, although it was definitely one of the two) again forced me to specifically select the file from the window it popped up.
After selecting to run a checkup scan it gave the correct message. I then selected okay and the window minimized. However, almost immediately afterwards, another window popped up, which was as if I had just opened the program. I have attached a screenshot of the new window that popped up. I didn’t click on it once. No other window every popped up saying that it was scanning. No scan was run, only the default window as if I had opened it fresh. Also, task manager only showed one task for Crystal X running. Hopefully that is helpful.
My Wishes:
It’s good that Crystal X pops the balloon up when it initially goes into checkup mode. However, clicking on any other window makes that fade away. Thus, my wish is that at the very least the balloon should stay visible during the duration of the scan until the main window pops up again, regardless of whether the user clicks on another window or not.
You could add an option to the checkup scan to show all files which are running in memory, regardless of whether they are flagged as suspicious or not. This way the user could choose to manually analyze them using the services provided to see if the computer is infected.
For CAMAS when CAMAS tries to analyze a file and the file isn’t analyzed correctly for whatever reason it says that the analysis failed. Thus, your result of Failed is technically correct. However, I think it could confuse some users as they may think it was your program that failed. Thus, I think perhaps you could change the wording to “Not Analyzable” or something like that.
When you click on the option to allow Comodo File Intelligence I think it should open up the Comodo File Intelligence window automatically and provide you with a text box explaining what to do. Forcing users to watch a YouTube video may be confusing for many.
System Information:
I’m using Windows 7 Home Premium x64 and am logged in as an Administrator. UAC is disabled. Also, Crystal X has been added to the trusted files list of CIS V 6.0. Please feel free to contact me via PM if you have any questions or require additional information.
Strange, tried to reproduce your issue but there is no pop-up for me.
Can you please try again with Valkyrie and CAMAS?
Note: One things I´d like to point out is that when ‘Re-Analyze’ option is enabled under settings
then while program analyzing file then for successful progress I don´t recommend to do other things like web surfing etc…
Another thing is that when ‘Re-Analyze’ option is disabled then user can do other things while program analyzing file.

It is critical bug. Issue is confirmed and will be fixed with next version.
Okay, I retested and as long as I did not start clicking on other windows I could not replicate the problem. However, after I started clicking on other windows, such as for web surfing, the problem resurfaced.
I think what is happening is that your program must open the select file window, enter in the path name, and select ok. Therefore, if the user happens to click on any other windows the attention will be taken away from the path box, and nothing can be entered. Thus, the user has to do it manually. Is that what’s going on?
Either way, I think it’s definitely an important bug. If you want people to use this program I can tell you that many of them will immediately start clicking on other things. Also, just telling them that they cannot is not good practice either as I assume that many would get annoyed with the program and just not use it. Therefore, I believe you should fix this. Perhaps, and I will admit I don’t know programming very well, you could hide the box and do everything in the background. Would that help?
Okay. It is ‘normal’ behavior but also some kind of bug what is hard to fix…but if user wants to do other things while program analyzing file then it is recommend to get result for file without re-analyze and upload process - it is possible when user disable re-analyze option under settings - Then program will read last scan result.

Your description of analyze upload process is absolutely correct! :-TU :-TU
Process is a little bit different when re-analyze is disabled.

I´ll try to improve analysis process, so users can do other things when re-analyze is enabled (with uploading process).
Download Crystal X zipped file from download link.
Extract downloaded .zip file with some extraction tool (e.g. 7-zip or WinRAR)
Double-click (run) extracted executable file of Crystal X (Crystal X.exe)
Note
.NET Framework 4 is required.
