CPF 3.0.10.238 BETA 32-Bit Bug Reports

It should not matter how many pop-ups you get. If you block them, then nothing should appear in the keylogger window. Also, if you keep typing after blocking the second pop-up, AKLT will show everything you type, not just one character.

The previous beta did not let the DIRECTX test get past its defenses although it had some serious problems after running the keylogger test, but that seems to be fixed now… Also, I previously blocked the keyboard for AKLT on test1, so why is it asking me again on test4 in the DIRECTX case and not test2 and test3. I don’t know about you, but I think it’s broke

After changing the “Treat as” policy from Custom to Trusted Application for one of my applications, it stopped working. Also other programs no longer work after the change. I removed the application from the security policy and tried rebooting, but that did not help.Is there any way to reset Defense+ so it will start over from scratch?

If I disable Defense+ Security Level, everything works again.

Switching from “Train with Safe” to “Clean PC” and back again clears up the problem for those applications launched during “Clean PC”, but not those that were not run while “Clean PC” mode was on.

Similar problem mentioned in this thread:

Vista Business 32bits with 3Gb RAM in a Compaq nx6320 Notebook.
Running only avast antivirus Pro, TeaTimer, WinPatrol as residents.
The network driver was not installed properly (again).
The diagnostic still not working…
What a deception

CPF 3.0.10.238 and previous beta. Never worked for me (:AGY)

Does it work without TeaTimer?

Let’s start testing again… installing in safe mode, etc. etc. :THNK

Don’t install in safe mode, it won’t work.

Ragwing

Proved this evidence by experience.
Doesn’t work. Definitively, Comodo is not for my Vista…

Acer Aspire 1700
Windows XP Home Version 2000 Service Pack 2

When you maximize the window the Group tab disappears if you move the pointer over Purge tab and appears when you move it down to were the Group tab is.

Small spelling error in incoming connection alert.

Hey Coolio-

It’s a grammatical error bug as I see according to your screenshot in your post here:
https://forums.comodo.com/cfp_beta_corner/cfp_3010238_beta_general_feedbackimpressions_not_for_bug_reports-t14006.0.html;msg98029#msg98029

“If you are are sure about what to do…”

As I don’t have the beta installed, you can report it.

Hi Ragwing

I did not read through all the above lines, but, was it SnoopFree that caused the problems?

Because this proggie caused lots of nasty things in the past on my former pc…

I do not really trust it.

The most “interesting” thing about SnoopFree was, when using PeerGuardian, the latter showed me (virtual?) connections to/from IP addresses which were obviously from China (that’s what Karenware’s “Whois” told me, at least.

Is it possible that SnoopFree contains some kind of yet-to-be-detected rootkit techniques?

When I uninstalled the prog, the IP connections did not show anymore. I tried this by about 10 reinstalls.

Anyone can confirm this? I won’t reinstall this nasty on my new PC, you may guess why.

P2P downloading->go to the cfp firewall section-> check the “view active connection”-> then the cfp icon just gone.

The cmdagent was till in the process, but cfp dispeared.

System information:

vista 32
avira antivir premium
comodo boclean
bitcomet 0.70
peerguardian rc1 test2

honghr

Sounds strange. I don’t remember I’ve seen it doing some connections, neither in CPF 2.4’s Active connections or ‘netstat -anob’. Can’t check myself, as I uninstalled it since CPF3 offers keylogging protection.
Maybe you should post about this on the wilders or something so a programmer can take a look at the code?
Anyways, let’s not continue the discussion here, as this topic is for bug reports only.

Ragwing

Wilders? I don’t know, there’s too many people on their forum I don’t trust anymore.

Well, aren’t any programmers here at the Comodo forum?
To have a look inside the code of SnoopFree?

My capabilities in actual pc language (de)coding are not the best ones, I fear.

If you love comodo you will not ask them to break a law. You cannot decompose a program that is under protection by law.

I am far from an expert but I think I may have solved one problem with CPF using 100% of CPU.

When I first installed Beta 3.0.10.238, it used 100% CPU.
I run Windows XP SP2 fully patched along with Nod32, and several other programs that load at start-up. 2gig memory, dual core duo CPU etc.
I also use a “Logitech” cordless desktop which I really like.

By a process of elimination, I have discovered that a file that loads with the logitech package called “Logitech Desktop Messenger” is conflicting with the firewall. Once I stopped this program loading at start-up, the problem has been solved.

I hope this may help others and better yet, maybe lead for a fix.

Regards to all

Greg

I spot more spelling & grammatical errors.

Based on Coolio’s screenshot in the Stealth Ports Wizard screen:
2nd option → “If you choose this options,…”

Based on Panagiotis’ screenshot in the Configuration Wizard screen:
2nd paragraph → “In the latter case, instead of clocking automatically,…”
2nd option → “This option is more suitable for experienced filewall users,…”

Based on adric’s second screenshot in the Defense+ Tasks GUI:
Predefined Security Policies → “In firewall, you can create…” {It’s missing some word like the between “In” and “firewall”, otherwise it looks awkward}

Side Note:
Not a bug, but an inconsistency on the Stealth Wizard screen: first option uses the term “computer”, but the third option uses the acronym “PC”. To cover all audiences, it’d be best to stick with “computer” all the way through.

Just about to post this. There are even more gramatical errors and a bug. Check my post https://forums.comodo.com/cfp_beta_corner/serious_bug_in_installer_cfp_3010238_beta-t14089.0.html

This is my problem too.
The Miscellaneous - Settings - logging - disable options are unchecked
Firewall - Firewall Behavior Settings - Alert Settings - set to “very high” alert - no logs at all for firewall

Defense+ logging seems OK
Been running since released and all else seems to be running very sweetly.

Thanks

Edit My apologies. It is working, but nice and quietly nearly all the time. (:WIN)
