If you start x86 portable version on a x64 OS it doesn’t complain about the wrong bit version being used. For example Comodo Cleaning Essentials does complain if you start x86 on x64.
We’ll add a notice message in a future update. But CSU should work without problems in this conditions. The only disadvantage is that it will not find some x64 entries.
CSU doesn’t detect comodo Ice dragon… CSu fails to clear data at the omnibox of comodo dragon… Every time I remove temp file for Comodo Dragon. It always changes my default search engine preferences.
Attempted the 64 bit portable version. Did not want to start. Administrator mode and compatibility mode for windows 7 allowed it to start, but it would detect the registry errors and never delete them.
Comodo System Utilities Free 4.0 - Great software with key usability issues
I only got to know of and have been using Comodo System Utilities Free 4.0 for just about a month. Although it is quite impressive these are some key usability issues which I think will significantly enhance CSU if addressed.
Inability to use the middle scroll - this make going through the scan lists difficult having to use only the scroll bar.
Inability to multi-select items from a scan list - you have to tick each item one after another if you want to pick & choose which to clean or exclude from the scan list.
Lack of access to commands from a context menu.
Inability to track items to their containing folder and the registry location.
Lack of a ‘collapse all’ option to go with ‘select all’ ‘select none’ - the importance of this option is most evident in the case of the duplicate cleaner feature. For example scanning showed that I had over 1000 duplicate files on my system. Most were unwanted files just wasting space but a considerable number were deliberate and serving various purposes. So i had to pick and choose which ones to clean and which to keep. I had to manually collapse every single item one after another - imagine how cumbersome it was.
The ‘Filter Entries’ feature in Disk Cleaner is actually non- functional
The fact that Comodo duplicate file remover deletes system files means I won’t be using it ever again
You get no warning such as you are about to delete system files needed for PC to boot this is too aggressive and a fail from me :-TD
