Comodo Internet Security v10.0.2.6408 Released

I agree, but I think there is a problem: antivirus alerts last for a fraction of a second and do not let me decide what to do. I wish it worked as it did until 2 days ago, I did not change anything in the configuration. I do not think it’s normal for a similar operation.

News: Good morning and thanks for the support,
I redesigned a clean installation and the problem seems to be solved. The only problem is Diagnostic error.

Any comments to my post?
Do I need to assume that every time when new CIS version is out I need to uninstall product and make fresh install and all that only with help of some unofficial batch file product removal tool?

Sorry, but with that policy and lack of support from Comodo staff members lately (since CCAV arrived there wasn’t the greatest time for CIS) , I will have to stop to use Comodo product with big regrets.

Check the CisDumps folder for any signs of memory dumps from CIS processes crashing.

It is always a good idea to do clean install between major and sometimes minor point realeases 8.x > 10.x and 10.0.1 to 10.0.2, however it is not really necessary to do so. Also uninstalling using a removal tool is rarely ever required as uninstalling normal usually works just fine.

No. How did you install this build? Did you use the program updater? Did you perform an installation on top of a previous version using the off line installer?

The Comodo forums are an end user support forum where attention of Comodo staff is the icing on the cake.

CisDumps folder is empty now and was empty before.

I always do clean install of product after any major product change, I even wait always a couple of months before start to use new version. But, clean install between 10.0.1 and 10.0.2 version, common…You know better then this futuretech, this isn’t my fault.
I absolutely agree with you in terms of using a removal tool, but it’s the case now that I have to use it if I want to use Comodo product.

I already wrote that.

When this topic (10.0.2.6408 version is out,I didn’t use v10.0.2.6396 version) was announced, I updated through product internal updater from v10.0.1.6294 to v10.0.2.6408.I didn’t use any offline installer or standalone online installer.

Well guys, this isn’t the best way to help product users. You even didn’t read what I wrote.

Thank you for letting know you updated with the program updater from 6396.

[size=1]On a side note. I checked your posts and they did start with you reporting problems that you were dealing with. At that point you had not stated how you updated. You then did a clean installation as requested by umesh.

When you click to “Update” manually and after click to “Reset Sandbox” the tab “Update” close alone.

:-TD

I reported these on the previous version. So no, it’s not under investigation. Please don’t treat us like idiots.

succesfully updated one pc (CIS 10.0.1) through online updater - during the last week. now tried to update two more pc’s and the new version 10.0.2 is not being found. why did you recall the online update?

There were some bugs that made Comodo recall the update and is now working on a release next week:

New: Even the problem with diagnostics has disappeared.
Now everything works.
Greetings

The diagnostics still gives me errors on the PC where I installed COMODO Firewall 10.0.2.6408, while on another PC where I’ve the 10.0.1.x version (I don’t remember the exact number) gives me no errors.
Is there an official page where I can download the 10.0.1.x version and try installing it instead of 10.0.2.6408?

Just installed it today! Thanks for the update! :azn:
So far it appears to be working smoothly.

May I ask when ISE will become an optional component during installation? I already understand that you can remove it and it’s not supposed to come back… but sometimes it does. Having to uninstall something that may or may not be wanted is a little silly. Why is it ISE is hidden during a default installation of CIS? I would also like to see the file submission of unknown files through CIS become more… reliable. Many times it sits there attempting to upload unknown files but errors out. Other days it seems to suddenly work again. Its been this way ever since I started using CIS 8.0. Oddly enough, you can always lookup a file to check the reputation of a file instantly… It’s the submission of unknown files through the CIS interface which stalls very often.

Test platform: VirtualBox, guest: WinXP SP3, CIS 10.0.1.6294.
During update via internal updater:

  1. executing ise_installer (ISE was never installed)
  2. reboot needs…
After reboot CIS version is … 10.0.1.6294(!) and checking update returns “No updates”.

“Excellent” work, guys… >:-D

Hi,

I think there is a new bug with this update.

I’m using WaterFox 55.2.2 with enabled multi-process/content process active. Everything was well with CIS 10.0.1.6294.
After update to CIS v10.0.2.6408, run waterfox and every tab opened crash even with all CIS modules disabled.

I have to disabled content process in waterfox and then waterfox ran well again (but more slowly, of course).

That the strange thing that I have installed firefox 57 with content process active and it is working well with this version of CIS.

Why waterfox is not working with content process enable now? What have changed between CIS 6294 and CIS 6408?

Regards…

Thanks for reporting,
We will check.

It is really confuse now to know the difference between products.
I know CIS since the start of is life.
And i know CFW since even before too.
Now my interest is to know if there is benefit to use CCAV with CFW for replace CIS.

Many people seem to agree the comodo antivirus part is weak.
So…if Comodo antivirus is weak…what CCAV gonna change to this since it come from the same place and use the same cloud base ??

That’s my interogation at the moment.

Is there ANY “REAL” benefit to use CCAV+CFW and not CIS ?? (I already use CIS on cloud looking)

In my opinion, if you already have CFW, you don’t need anything else.
But since sometimes CFW can cause compatibility problems with Windows 10 updates/upgrades, you can switch to CCAV, which doesn’t have a kernel level driver, so it’s better for compatibility.
CCAV scanner works like CFW cloud lookup, so basically, CCAV is like CIS, but without:

  • Firewall (even if now you can block TCP connections for sandboxed apps)
  • Offline AV
  • HIPS
  • Website filtering
  • Customization (for example, you can’t customize the auto-sandbox rules, you can just add an app to always run inside or outside the sandbox)

I think it’s better to use CCAV with Windows Firewall, maybe coupled with a 3rd party front-end (Binisoft WFC, TinyWall, and such).
I personally use CCAV with Windows Firewall without any 3rd party SW, I just set WF to block any incoming and outgoing connections, then I made rules to allow what I want to (you can check this guide http://hardenwindows10forsecurity.com/)
