Comodo Internet Security v10.0.1.6223 Released

After “Comodo Internet Security v10.0.1.6223” released Comodo was working good but now again I saterted to take the same error message “COMODO security agent could not be started”…

There’s also a chance that older version number might remain… on second thought. Is older version of SS uninstalled or replaced during update, Umesh? Not very sure.

Please provide a diagnostics report. [guide]

In these options I do not have Secure Shooping and I do not know why in applications and functions is invisible. Only the latest CIC version is visible.I uninstalled Secure Shopping I cleaned registry I installed again and nothing helped. Only the application is visible in apps and features.

Diagnostic report? it can never find fault… Everything is perfect in dagnostic report.
but now I tried again and after restart ■■■ didn’t say “COMODO security agent could not be started”
As if it were working normally…

and why CIS always make a shortcut on desktop? I always delete it but it make again and again. Setting are very useless. So this 10 version is very strange. I want to go back to the old version if I have a chance…

Only problems in the last version (fresh install), that I could find, were CIS creating a desktop shortcut after modifying app settings, not being able to submit unrecognized files and CIS not remembering the previously set theme (always installs the default one, Lycia). Now after this update, the first two issues seem to be solved… doesn’t make a desktop icon anymore and I can submit unrecognized files. I see that CIS not remembering the previous theme issue is still unsolved as it wasn’t in the release notes, so maybe it will be fixed in next releases.
Great work on fixing the bugs from previous release guys ! For a free software, Comodo is still my choice for protection and does an even better job than some paid programs out there… malware free since 2009.

Thanks for logs, we looked at those and need three event logs viz HIPS, Containment and AV; you can export as shown in enclosed snap.

You can access Logs section using: “Tasks → Advanced Tasks → View Logs” section.

Seems the reason is that even though AV and program updates are off, we still check if there is any update on trusted vendor list.

@heffiji, can you also check if there’s any file with .tmp extension in C:\Program Files\COMODO\COMODO Internet Security ?

…which means that it’s probably not a files permissions issue. Not sure what’s happening. It could be a conflict with Avast based on your diagnostics report.

You can use windows debugging tools and issue !analyze -v after opening crash dump file in windbg.

May you please uninstall Avast and try to update CIS?

It seems from details provided so far that something is blocking file to be updated.

Does this also work on Comodo’s crash dumps? I am talking about the files that are stored in “C:\ProgramData\Comodo\CisDumps”.
