Hi,
I’m a member of COMODO.
When you downloaded files to c:\users\adminVT\downloads in sandbox, the files is not shown in c:\users\adminVT\downloads out of sandbox.
Only files are downloaded to C:\Users***\Downloads and shared space of CIS, they could be shown in the same folder out of sandbox. Otherwise, you could open c:\VTroot to get these files downloaded.
Is that there is no c:\VTroot directory after you downloaded files to c:\users\adminVT in sandbox? Because the c:\VTRoot directory is a hidden folder, did you show all hidden folder?
You maybe right, I forgot the unhide the folders in my VM. I will retest CIS 8 again and this time unhide the folders and see if I can see VTroot. Will let you guys know.
yes unhiding did it. now the VTroot is visible in the C drive. So all is good. I had forgot to unhide.
;D
good to hear :-TU
With virtualization enabled, opening Serious Sam 3 resulted into instant forced restart of whole system.
Now another thing with CIS 8. Why doesn’t CIS (if it has a built in whitelist) knows about firefox and allow it automatically instead of popping up a standard warning with the allow to run, block, etc…? So I had to add it to the allow list.
It seems the version 8 is very noisy in popping up many pops up for standard apps of those apps known to be good and common and also some system files ? this is on standard setting.
Is it because of the HIPS of the version 8? Something is different then version 7 to have increased the popups warnings.
what is hardware virtualization support? how do i know that i am using this feature? is there any way to know?
Congratulations!
Up and running since the beta version.
I’m using Firefox without any popups with firewall and hips in safe mode. May be you better check your setting or list out your setting in details in order for other to help your here.
Thank you, I was waiting for its release… downloading now. :-TU

If you disable Hips, the enhanced protected mode does not work. But the auto-sandbox function still works, and it will auto-sandbox the unrecognized programs.
If I set to proactive, hips disabled & auto sandbox enabled on a 64 bit system. What are the disadvantages of enhanced protection being disabled in this set up?
Enhanced protection is part of the HIPS module. If you disable HIPS, the HIPS specific settings do nothing.
From the Wikipedia article on hardware-assisted virtualization:
In computing, hardware-assisted virtualization is a platform virtualization approach that enables efficient full virtualization using help from hardware capabilities, primarily from the host processors. Full virtualization is used to simulate a complete hardware environment, or virtual machine, in which an unmodified guest operating system (using the same instruction set as the host machine) executes in complete isolation. Hardware-assisted virtualization was added to x86 processors (Intel VT-x or AMD-V) in 2006.Your processor needs to support it. Look at this page on how how to check for it.
Sigh can this update be the reason for my computer starting to freeze up? started 30 hours ago.
It can happen when im not doing anything at all, watching video or browsing the internet.
Windows and programs freeze up completly, if i have video on it keeps playing in vlc and mpc-hc, hard reset is only way to reboot.
Had the exact same problem a while ago after an update, reinstalled cis and it keept freezing but less often, reinstalled the program and wiped my computer clean from all traces of cis and then the freezing stopped, until now.
Try with Viruscope disabled.
Advanced > Security Settings > Defense+ > Viruscope
Hi,
What OS you are using?
And could you please show the detailed settings of CIS?
Are hips and enhanced protected mode enabled?
Auto-sandbox is enabled ,right?
You said: “with virtualization enabled”, does it mean “auto-sandbox” is enabled in settings?
Did the force restart happen more than 1 time?
There would be a virtualization option, maybe under Advanced BIOS Features. When it is enabled, you get the hardware virtualization support.
Easy way to check.
Or the “virtualization enabled” means “hardware virtualization support”, and the “enhanced protected mode” is enabled, right?
